The federal government can no longer accept new undocumented immigrants into the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, a federal judge in Texas ruled Friday, a major blow to a program that's shielded from deportation over 600,000 people who entered the U.S. illegally as children.

Good. The executive branch can't just make up permanent laws and policies without the approval of legislative branch. This ruling is actually good for Democrats, because the illegal version of DACA was helping Republicans in their fundraising and arguably played a role in the 2016 election.

#1 That's just --------. The Dems were not harmed by DACA. Are you a troll, or just stupid?

I'm thinking stupid.

#1 - Funny, because in polling a large majority of Americans support DACA, including large numbers of sane Republicons. The reasoning of this judge, that DACA recipients will out compete legal Americans in the job market smacks of white rage and Trumpism. I know he was a W pick, but he sure writes like a MAGAt. MAGAts don't want a meritocracy, they fear that their sons won't be able I compete in sports with transgender boys, that immigrants will take their jobs, they want everything given to them because of the color of their skin, which is why Dotard turned out to be the ideal head of their white supremacist movement, he was born a foot from home plate and acts like he hit a home run.

This is ridiculous. DACA has been all the way to SCOTUS, where Dolt45 was told he couldn't end it. Now some asshat district judge in Texass pulls this stunt?

It's too bad that there's no chance Andrew Hanen will be impeached for his utter incompetence.

If most people support DACA then they should sign it into law. DACA en perpetua is an illegal policy.

It is the will of the majority party. Unfortunately, under our system with the (absurd) filibuster, a minority can continually thwart the will of the majority of the country.

How can you have a "constitutional republic" where the majority is over-ruled by the minority? What justifies that?

Like "support for DACA", the filibuster and our representative system of government is more nuanced than you're letting on. Those who want to burn down the house by completely scrapping the current system are singing the same song as Donald Trump, who wanted to completely scrap the filibuster when he was in power.

I agree that the way the filibuster is currently set up (where people can just say I filibuster without holding the floor) is ridiculous. OTOH, those who want to do with it completely are foolishly short sighted.

Most Americans do not support amnesty or policies that incentivize illegal immigration.
