As partisan debates rage on about urgent issues like the Covid-19 pandemic and climate change, a new survey finds that Republicans have less confidence in science by nearly a third since 1975.

They have more than one political reason for wanting to see Americans sick and dead. They're monsters. I don't think they'll ever realize how bad they are.

This is all drama queen. I know a good number of people who have chosen to wait on or not take the vaccine and none of them "want to see Americans sick and dead" You're the one sick Zed - sick in the head. Most of these people refusing the shot absolutely know that if they have a severe side effect, no one is responsible for them. Not the FDA, not the manufacturer and not the clinic administering the shot. Keep setting your dumpster fires but know this, no one is wishing death and sickness on anyone else.

Every tool refusing to get vaccinated is currently protected from smallpox and poliovirus thanks to a vaccine

If you know a lot of them, then it's safe to say you are and hang with, dolts

And every dolt that wants to require someone to inject something into their body against their own decisions, is apparently a Nazi. I don't care what others do. It's not my body and not my decision. A woman wants to abort her pregnancy? not my business. Someone doesn't want to be a test subject for a "vaccine" I don't care. My health is my business. Your health is your business. Their health is their business.

Oh so then you don't care that China unleashed this virus on the world.

That was their decision, and you stand by their right to do what they did.

Are you a direct descendant of Typhoid Mary, Bellringer?

Because apparently you don't think it's wrong to spread disease to others.

Is this how you get back at that nice lady who gave you herpes?

When these idiots get COVID, their entire society pitches in to save them, as witness the hospitals now overflowing with their slovenly asses.

Imagination in the service of stupidity is just going to get some of your family killed. But, as you said, that's their business.

The hospitals are full of unvacinated covid patients.... they are NOT full of vaccine complications.

If the small chance of a side effect frightens you so much..how do you survive the modern world... do you live in a bubble? You must not leave your house because danger exists everywhere.

#12 | Posted by 503jc69 at 2021-07-18 08:32 AM | Reply | Newsworthy 1

As I recall, when I entered my children into public school I had to produce their shot records because vaccinations were required. This is no different except that a right wing meme has been created that contradicts science and morons like Bellringer are pushing the idea that it is just their business if they are vaccinated or not. That is simply not true because young children, thus far, can't be vaccinated, those with severe allergic reactions can't be vaccinated so the idiots who refuse the vaccine do not only risk their own lives but they spread the disease to others who can't get vaccinations.

What's "funny" is that this is the "conservative" argument against any safety concern, that the world is dangerous so why worry.

I was wondering when they'd ditch it. They've ditched every other "principle" when it became inconvenient.

African Americans doubting information from the government regarding healthcare is caused by far more than Tuskegee. They have long been the victims of systemic racism in the healthcare system, doctors long believed that black people have higher pain tolerances and needed less pain management, black women have a maternal mortality rate close to that of third-world countries.

The risk of a severe adverse event is 10-100x lower than risk of severe COVID.

So either you hang around with idiots or they're simply justifying their position with a poorly thought out rationale.

#31 | POSTED BY DANFORTH

I had to explain it to Eberly on another thread. I worked (volunteer) at the Tuskegee VA Hospital when the experiment was still going on ('66-'69, it wasn't terminated until '71). I worked in the medical photography department that documented the untreated lesions. These people were allowed to suffer from progressive disease while the medical staff merely documented the course of the disease. They lied to the patients telling them that they were being given treatment. Now some blacks question whether they are getting "the real vaccine". See how that works?

IMHO, "conservatives" don't like science because of its principle of "falsifiability". They don't like the idea that they can be proved to be wrong about anything. They also probably flunked Geometry.

Yes the study is 11 years old but I would posit that the intervening years have moved the needle further towards dems

My theory as to why is that republicans tend to think they can shape reality while dems tend to accept reality and adjust accordingly

It's not in a vacuum. You have to also consider 400 years of lies and mistreatment. Do you not realize that all ethnicities have historical grievances? Like the Irish vis a vis Northern Ireland, or the Armenians vs the Turks, Shia vs Sunni, etc. Some of these are centuries or millennia old, but blacks should just disregard 400 years of slavery/Jim Crow in this country?

But how does your rationale, (today) line up with your other rationale, (yesterday) that conservative leadership is not to blame for their bases behavior?

You just wrote that it was leadership, (not hard to see) that hoodwinked their followers into politicizing science.

It's like we are entering another Dark Age. If enough of these these Trumpy clowns had been around when we were eradicating polio in America we would still be suffering from polio in America. Polio still exists and if we stopped vaccinating ourselves from it then it will return.

How long do we have to suffer fools like bellefinger before America emerges from this current "Dark Age"?

If they continue have their say and folks continue to be fooled by them then this pandemic could go on for another 300 years. Just like the Black Plague did due to our collective ignorance back then.
