A day after it recorded the most new daily cases since the start of the pandemic, Florida on Sunday broke a previous record for current hospitalizations set more than a year ago before vaccines were available.

People who can't even receive the vaccine.

DeathSantis and Abbott are fighting it out to be the worst governor in the US and their citizens are paying the price.

Which means:

A. Get you f$%^ing vaccine

and

B. These kids are suffering because of the idiot "adults" they have the unfortunate chance of living with or near.

COVID is putting American stupidity on display like nothing else ever before.

Get used to that headline--folks will be reading it each day for some time to come...

So about half of the children could have received the vaccine. And the other half could have probably avoided the disease if the people old enough to receive vaccine would have got it.
We already knew that MAGATs aren't really just pro-forced birth, not pro-life. Children on ventilators due to MAGAT neglect takes their hatred of all things to a whole new level.

From March 2021...

Op-Ed: How Ron DeSantis won the pandemic
www.politico.com

...Ron DeSantis wants you to know how well he has done....

"It's interesting. Now you're starting to see some of the mainstream and national media admit: Oh, Florida had schools open -- it was the right decision. Oh, Florida has a 4.8 unemployment rate -- and yet their mortality rate for Covid is less than a lot of these lockdown states," he said. "People were saying Florida was going to end up hit the worst on everything." But Florida's way? His way? "That's proven to be a better approach."

Democrats across the state say this "victory lap" is not only unseemly but premature....

Well if they tested less, the cases would magically go away.

Like Trump, DeSantis has amply demonstrated he doesn't give atinker's dam how many dead bodies stand between him and his ambition.

Turns out it was too soon to take a Victory lap.

DeSantis obviously has political ambitions that he thinks emulating Trump will reward. That is his only motivation. He doesn't really care how many kids will get COVID because of his OE to prevent mask mandates. Trust me, his kids got to a school where mask mandates are allowed. He is an evil political hack who puts his career ambitions ahead of the welfare of the people of Florida.
I wouldn't spit on him if he was on fire.

What if you are a responsible parent but your kids go to class with the children of complete a******s? Your kids may get COVID because of the irresponsibility of those other parents. There should be a way to sue those other parents for infecting your kid. I suspect that if there were an economic penalty the idiots would be forced to act more responsibly. Ron DeSantis should be sued for his irresponsible leadership or lack of such. I didn't hate him when he was first elected but I have watched his actions since and, believe me, I do hate him now. He is absolutely willing to sacrifice the lives of school children for partisan points. What a piece of filth he has proven to be.
