Today, the Democrat-dominated Guilford County Board of Commissioners will consider a proposed firearms ordinance that would deprive citizens and gun ranges of their Second Amendment rights. The NCGOP sent a letter to the Commissioners in opposition to the proposal this afternoon.

See, this is that drip, drip, drip liberals try to do. They wont introduce one bill to ban guns, they will slowly do it. No one asked for this. But rest assured, conservative North Carolinian's are going to fight this garbage.

Nothing in this bill appears to interfere with the right to keep and bear arms. Did I miss something?

Boaz would lose the right to fire a gun outside his neighbours window for 2 hours straight in the middle of the night.

8A-9P isn't the middle of the night.

I also question the property owner fine. Could the cops do a Briana and then fine you for firearms discharging on your property? Seems overly vague language is the primary issue.

I can understand this in a city, but in the country, this is --------. You can best believe out here in the country where I live, if I want to fire my weapon for six hours, I should be able to. That's almost a part of the culture out here. Why county liberals want to wade into this I dont know.

Just another reason why people down south tell people up north to leave their -------- up there and dont bring it down south.

My understanding is that the proposed changes to Code Section 11-8 ("Annoying and disturbing noises") would:

Make it illegal to repetitively discharge firearms between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m.
Make it illegal to repetitively discharge firearms for 2 hours consecutively or 3 hours

www.nc.gop

The original is selectivity edited in the article.

Again, I can see this for city situations. But out in the country, where there's vast undeveloped land, this should not be on private property. It's different out here.

I cant tell you how, in our next door app, we get northerners who moved down here and start complaining about the guns shooting. For those of us who have lived here all our lives, it's not a problem. But it's just another instance of people moving into a nicer environment, but not respecting the culture of where they are moving to and trying to make it like the place they left.

We are not having it here in NC..You can take that ---- back to where Moder8 lives.

As is almost always the case with Bozo, his source is complete garbage.
The actual changes are few and bear little resemblance to what his trash article says.

Most of the provisions have already been in place for a decade or longer.

Example:
Lie: "Make it illegal to repetitively discharge firearms for 2 hours consecutively or 3 hours cumulatively between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m., even at shooting ranges."

Reality: "This provision does not create any new restrictions or limitations that were not already in place at the time this Ordinance (Section 11-8) was enacted on May 19, 2005. It does, however, provide clarification of the existing ordinance to ensure the uniform application and enforcement"

If you go on to read further you find this is a noise ordinance and only applies if it "creates an unreasonably loud, disturbing, annoying, or unnecessary noise"

Boaz, why do you post so many easily disprovable lies?

By the way, you can still get a soda when you order a happy meal in California.

If it was the Muslim call to prayer over a loudspeaker for the whole town to hear five times a day, Boaz might have a different view of what freedom means.

How dare libruls suggest boaz can't be a selfish, self-absorbed prikc! If boaz wants to make a lot of noise it's his neighbor's fault for being his neighbor!

Time to change the voting laws to further restrict the powers of the majority, right boaz?

The lily white racist redneck un-American POS a traitor that is comrade Boazo needs to have his "guns grabbed". That is even if he is in the US.
Though there is a 50-50 chance he is a Ruskie bot.

From Mary Beth Murphy--Guilford County Commissioner District 4:

Tonight during our regular board meeting, we will hold a public hearing to receive input on staff proposed changes to the Guilford County gun ordinance. There is significant misinformation and also what appears to be a disinformation campaign regarding the proposed changes. This my attempt to disseminate facts and set the record straight.

1) The ordinance does NOT regulate or govern hunting. Given the confusion around this issue the ordinance language has been updated to expressly state this fact.

2) The gun ordinance and noise ordinance do NOT apply to established gallery and sport/skeet shooting clubs and ranges. Given the confusion around this issue the ordinance language has been updated to expressly state this fact.

3) This ordinance does NOT apply to Turkey Shoots which have their own separate governing ordinance and permitting process. Turkey shoots will continue to operate as they always have.

4) The gun ordinance seeks to provide safety guidelines to ensure projectiles discharged on private property STAY on that private property. There have been significant number of instances where improper or totally absent backstops/berms have resulted in bullets inadvertently traveling far beyond their intended targets creating unsafe conditions for neighbors.

5) This ordinance does NOT ban the discharge of firearms in private property. Period.

Yeah, looks like someone was trying to rile up the good citizens of NC for no reason and succeeded.

It should have been obvious to anyone who read the actual text of the proposal instead of trusting a propaganda site but the idea of fact checking is a completely foreign concept to Boaz who is willing to believe anything that can be used to frame anyone to the left of Putin in a negative view.

I don't think it's make him think any, though. He's on the nooner calling for shooting liberals "out back" and saying that's "why we need the 2nd amendment."

Yea, it only tells you how long you can discharge them on your property.

I can't help but notice how quiet Boaz has been on this embarrassing thread. LOL

Unlike you, I have a job and other things to do.

The gun ordinance seeks to provide safety guidelines to ensure projectiles discharged on private property STAY on that private property.

Thats not how it originally read and they know it. That's why they have had to "update" the language. When you leave things vague with liberals, they love to take advantage.

And actually, it's not a "gun ordinance". It's an ordinance concerning the creation and operation of private weapons ranges. Maybe if they named it correctly, there wouldnt be any "misunderstandings".

" actually, it's not a "gun ordinance". It's an ordinance concerning the creation and operation of private weapons ranges."

So ... it's not an attack on the 2nd Amendment at all, despite the claim in the headline.

Got it.

Boaz, can't you figured out the GOP lied to you?
Your link is from the NC GOP.
You parroted it like an unthinking child.
But they lied, and made a liar out of you too.

Awww boaz came back to offer a feeble defense of his distorted bullsthi.

Even when corrected he's gonna stick with the lie.

Wish I could say I'm shocked.

Here you can have a shooting range in your front yard, and I live on a main street into a high school. The state has made it against the law to pass any ordinance against me doing it, too. They'll sue the city if the city puts any ordinance or restriction on me doing it other than requiring that the bullets fired can't go past my property line.

"Yea, it only tells you how long you can discharge them on your property."

No, it does not. It only tells you can't create a noise disturbance.

That specific section does not create any new restrictions or limitations. It is about noise complaints and also prohibits "Blowing horns" (or any other attention getting device), "Radios, stereos, etc.", "Sound-producing equipment in vehicles", loud animals, loud vehicles/exhaust, Blowing whistles, loud air compressors, etc. It only applies if the noise is unreasonably loud to the point that it is causing a disturbance.
If anything, you should be happy about the clarifications because they give more leeway to gun noise than from other sources. You can immediately call the sheriff on the trans black kid playing their music a little too loud to your liking but you can blast away with the loudest gun you can find for several hours a day and be perfectly within your rights as long as you are within 150 yards away from other's buildings.

"The gun ordinance seeks to provide safety guidelines to ensure projectiles discharged on private property STAY on that private property.
Thats not how it originally read and they know it. That's why they have had to "update" the language. When you leave things vague with liberals, they love to take advantage."

So your complaint is that they are adding clarifications to make it even more clear that you can't be shooting stray bullets all over the place? THE NERVE OF THEM. The Constitution specially says you have the right to blast away anywhere at anytime at anything with no regard as to what you might hit.

And yes, that is how it originally read. Since it is obvious that you've not read the original ordinance or the proposed revisions I'll tell you what it currently says. It specifically states that "No person shall, without the consent of the owner or lawful occupier, discharge a firearm within 150 yards of a dwelling or other building or structure, which is designed to be occupied by human beings..." It also says rules regarding shooting ranges (private or public/free or commercial) are designed to prevent "projectiles fired from firearms at targets are prevented, by means of backstops or other barriers, from going beyond the boundaries of the area."

Now the revised ordinance does clarify that livestock buildings are included in the definition of buildings that are designed to be occupied by humans I guess because THEY ACTUALLY ARE DESIGNED TO BE OCCUPIED BY HUMANS.

Boaz just wants to do whatever he wants without any consideration of those around him. It's his world, we just live in it.

Oddly enough, he expects everyone else to bend to his whims, though.
