A judge ruled on Sunday that Norwegian Cruise Line is permitted to ask customers to show proof of vaccination before boarding a ship, dealing a blow to Gov. Ron DeSantis's (R-Fla.) law that prevented "vaccine passports" from being utilized in the state.

Oh look, DeathSantis is as good at the legal as Fat Donnie Fail!

This is yet another problem with Gov DeSantis' approach to protecting the health of Florida citizens.

While this may be headline-worthy, the really big question is --- when will the good people of Florida realize that Gov DeSantis does not have their best interests at heart, that he wants them to die to keep the tourism business of Florida alive?

Weren't Republicans against the government intervening in corporate America.

UT oh. What's DeSantis going to do next? Cancel their docking permits?

BTW, haven't we seen this movie before? I seem to recall a cruise line that had to park off shore and ferry their passenger on board.

DeSantis is breathing a sigh of relief. Not only has his stupid decision been wisely taken out of his hands, but he can now blame the ebil gubmint for forcing humans to live.

But now the guv has another, related problem: his top-down imposition of stupid on schools is blowing up in his face.

The loss doesn't matter but the attention lets them spin the loss as "give me money for next time".

Too much money involved in the wedge issues and covid is the biggest wedge since roe-v-wade.

This isn't anything they really want to win, this is something they just want to continue.

A lot of people from both sides are making money hand over fist and they don't want the gravy train to end, even if the the fat lady is warming up for her performance.

Both DeSantis and Abbott keep reaching for new lows as they try to out-Trumpy each other.

At the moment DeSantis is telling educators that he's going to cut off their paychecks if they continue to insist on masks for children in their classrooms.

Now it's Abbott's turn to go lower that.

Texas, the time has come to cut off the arm of every child who gets vaccinated.

TWINPAC -

Both Abbott and DeSantis appear to have worked themselves into similar corners. Basically: Let er rip, screw the consequences, and ... oh, we're not talking older folks anymore? Kids in "God's waiting room"? Not good. They've pandered to plutocrats concerned about their bottom line and the usual crew of GQP imbeciles pissed off about everything. There are, doubtless, parents perfectly willing to sacrifice their offspring on the altar of ignorance and stupidity for the sake of adhering to political pimps like the aforementioned guvs. But that would be "some" and nowhere near "a lot."

"that he wants them to die to keep the tourism business of Florida alive?
that he wants them to die to keep the tourism business of Florida alive?"

DeathSantis is trying to stupidly kill the cruise industry. The worst thing for business is to tell prospective customers that you don't have to show proof of vaccination. Who wants to board a floating Petri dish?
DeathSantis is the worst thing to hit the tourism industry in my lifetime.

"At the moment DeSantis is telling educators that he's going to cut off their paychecks if they continue to insist on masks for children in their classrooms.
Now it's Abbott's turn"

But the real educators are firing back that a paycheck will not cause them to side with DeathSantis against the welfare of children.

I think I'm ready to shorten his name to just Death. I can honestly say, though I have never been a fan, I didn't hate him until lately. Now I honestly do hate him, people are dying because of him.

I've been wondering for a while if/how the debate would change if younger adults and kids started being more affected by covid. Guess we are about to find out.

So here is DeathSentence wasting government resources for his political theater only to get slapped across the face.

Well, he is not one to let a good soundbite go unsaid so look for him to ignore it.

I can understand why parents are confused. They have a natural born instinct to protect their offspring.

DeSantis is saying "No! ~~ Listen to him instead. BIG MISTAKE!

He's ginning up his bona fides to move his career to Washington D.C. If children have to die, so be it. Republicans call it collateral damage.

Like every other "c-c-conservative" principle and ideal, private property rights are now being thrown on the trash heap.

Parental rights? Trash heap.

Right of localities to govern locally? Trash heap.

The overriding principle now is "the base gets to do what they want no matter what." THAT is the only "freedom" they're for now.

Notice that the desantis defenders have disappeared on this site? Did they all die from covid?

No. They're hiding on the nooner, railing at "libruls".
