First they would have to eject him. Then there would to be no good Dem candidate running and finally it would have to be a moderate Republican - a Schwarzenegger - and not a GQP Trumpist.
Unfortunately. Based on a lot of articles I've been reading. This isn't the case.
The ballot has two questions.
Should Newsom be recalled? YES or NO
If not enough people choose NO, the governor automatically becomes the candidate who received the most votes in question number 2.
Question two is a list of a few dozen names to choose from.
Current favorite? Larry Elder.
Who is Larry Elder? A hard core Trumper radio host. So. A talker. Like most Trumpers seem to be.
As far as "no other good Dems running."
There aren't. This is due to a gamble Newsom is taking.
There was an article I was reading a few days ago.
Newsom didn't want to provide a strong backup Democratic candidate in fear of losing democratic voters who may vote to recall in hopes of getting another democratic governor. (Splitting the vote)
All in all. This one isn't as clear cut as it should be.
Democrats have poor performances during midterms and special elections.
If Republicans can get more voters into booths. They win.
Even without a majority vote.
