In Texas an idiot thought it would be appropriate to rip a mask off a teacher while they were at the school the teacher worked at. Being a teacher is hard enough without parents thinking your body is community property.

Seems like the politicization of masks has made people crazy...

Where are those stand your ground laws when you need them? I guess they haven't armed Texas teachers yet, but local teachers unions may look upon such more favorably from here forward ...

Time to start standing our ground against this aggression.

IANAL, but last I read, the assault charge covers everything under assault and battery now.

Time to start standing our ground against this aggression.

If the teacher had been packing heat he/she could have yanked his/her gat and busted a a cap on the effer.

Yeah, thanks, Rusty. That's an area in which, I have not an ounce of experience. But, the point was received, and, after that, its just Tomato/Tomahto.
Be well.

I mean to specify that's how the law is written in Texas, making the law unique in that way compared to other states. In CA, you can be charged with assault, battery, or combination of the two.

Ripped the mask off of a teacher? What's wrong with people? Can't they just accept different points of view without getting all fired up?

Well the COVIDiot should be facing assault and battery charges right now.

What a fine example this moron is for his child.

Can't they just accept different points of view without getting all fired up?

They're Trumptards so no. They're point of view is the only correct point of view and they will resort to violence to prove it.

It's Texas where ANYONE can be armed...no questions asked.

And where is BOAZ? We need an injection of psychosis into this discussion. The "assaulter" was just expressing her freedumb of speech. Hey, let's invade the Capital of the United States and try to hunt down the VP and the Speaker with the goal of hanging them with the gallows outside but then pretend we were just tourists.

That's Lt Gov Dan Patrick. The same gem who suggested grandparents should be willing to sacrifice their lives to save the economy for their grandchildren. He of course meant YOU should be willing to sacrifice YOUR life for HIS grandchildren.

I'm willing to bet that black Texans are unvaccinated at about the same rates as white Texans

Black people have a long history of the federal government injecting them with drugs that rendered them infertile and evenactual infection such as ghonorhea and syphlis, their distrust of the federal government, all government is pretty understandable. And that stuff wasn't happening 100 years ago, no it was withing my own lifetime though I didn't know about it. Many of the elders in the black community can actually remember when this evil stuff was going on.

Leonard did not disclose the condition of the teacher who was attacked or disciplinary action against the parent accused of assaulting her in his statement.

If you don't want to disclose the name of the parent, at least say whether or not a referral to the police was made. People need to be held accountable for their actions.

Isn't that republican/conservative orthodoxy?

It's funny to watch the fake liberal posters start out super liberal to win credibility, then gradually start both-sides-ing everything, then totally shed the disguise and just blaming liberals even on a thread about a problem created by conservatives.

When it comes to a pandemic, there aren't "points of view", there are actions. Being anti mask or anti vax, isn't a point of view, it's an action that puts lives and economies in danger.

I witnessed part of it myself. I did volunteer work in the Medical Photography department at the Tuskegee VA, where the "experiment" was being conducted. We had full-color slides documenting all the untreated lesions (we, or at least I, didn't know treatment was being withheld). This was in the late '60s. They didn't end the "experiment" until the '70s.
