Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, August 25, 2021

Ron DeSantis is the first (and so far only) governor in the U.S. whose state is now recording more COVID-19 deaths each day -- long after free, safe and effective vaccines became widely available to all Americans age 12 or older -- than during any previous wave of the virus. So what went wrong?

What went wrong?

All you have to do in FL is check out where DeSantis is today with his speed-freaky peregrinations around the state, trying and failing to keep a step ahead of the virus, snarling nastiness and ignorance, smothered in his three-sizes too large suit - makes him look like a real EM-AYE-EN! - and it's right there in front of you.

"In the meantime, 228 people are dying of COVID in Florida each day"

So, about one Beirut Barracks bombing each day.

If DeSantis were Muslim he'd be hunted down like a dog.

Where Does Ron DeSantis Go to Get His Apology?' (May 2020)

...I have a piece up on the homepage today about Florida's approach to the COVID-19 crisis. If you talk to Governor DeSantis and his team, it's impossible to conclude anything other than that they have taken this seriously from the beginning, been immersed in the data and research, and crafted a well-considered response. Which makes it all the more astonishing and unfair that the media has been portraying DeSantis as a yokel who was going to get Floridians killed with his lax approach. In fact, on an absolutely central policy question " how to deal with the nursing homes " DeSantis and his team were much more stringent than other states....

@#4 ... portraying DeSantis as a yokel who was going to get Floridians killed with his lax approach ...

I disagree with the op-ed I cited.

Gov DeSantis' approach was anything but lax. Quite the contrary, it seems has sided actively and eagerly with the virus in killing off his constituents.

That is the problem I see. His approach has been planned. It was not lax, it was aggressive.

Lucky for North Florida the Corona Virus can only kill you once or else the numbers would be much higher. Because if we have learned one thing about the stupid people of Florida, it is that even when educated and knowledgeable about the lethal dangers of Covid 19 they still refuse to get vaccinated and prefer to think about it as a Democrat conspiracy to make DeSantis and Trump look bad.

Should other states turn away passenger planes that have been in Florida in the last week?

No, they can't. But if DeSantis wants to secede from the US by making it difficult to stay alive in Florida he's only re-invented Trump mindset policy.
These ------ love it when they can use policy in a off-the-books manner. Making policy and laws that do the work for them is their goal.
Nothing he's doing is new. He's only positioning himself for a '24 run to the WH. A dictator is reborn.

I hate to say this but... DeSantis just is not stupid enough to be Trump's equal.

Here's my DeSantis apology:
I'm sorry but you have to go...

Oh nay sayers and haters!

There is a silver lining to ever death cloud!

The Governor's friend who invested in Regeneron is making a ton of money!

Why can't you liberals look on the bright side?

Anecdotal: Talked with my middle school granddaughter about her school in the Keys. She says there are supposed to be 23 kids in her class, but only 13 showed up yesterday. The missing 10? Quarantine.

Ron DeSantis deserves and will get no apologies. What he should get is an ass-kicking.

I don't understand. They have Ivermectin, Regeneron and lots of thoughts and prayers. Why are people dying?

(Note: This is sarcasm.)

Nothings wrong. This is what happens when you join a death cult. People die.

This is now the new normal for Florida.
