More from the article...

...Delta Air Lines CEO Ed Bastian notified employees Wednesday that they will face $200 monthly increases on their health insurance premiums starting Nov. 1 if they aren't vaccinated against Covid-19, citing steep costs to cover employees who are hospitalized with the virus.

Unvaccinated employees will face other restrictions, including indoor masking effective immediately and weekly Covid-19 tests starting Sept. 12, the Atlanta-based airline said in announcing new Covid policies for employees....

Now, when you deliberately get hospitalized with COVID, not only do you troll the libs, you spite your employer too!

Talk about a win-win for the Deplorables.

I remember back in the late 1980's and 1990's, the Republicans were pushing a nationwide health-care plan with a mandate. One reason for the mandate was that the Republicans were tired of having to pay higher medical costs because of all those who used emergency rooms and were unable to pay for the services.

So it seems Delta Air Lines is doing a similar thing, trying to prevent those who are not vaccinated from burdening the insurance costs who are vaccinated.

Republicans (1980-2019):

"Let the 'free' market decide everything. It's totally rational and always more efficient than the gubbermint!"

And,

"Employers are always right. If employees don't like what their employers think, they can start their own bidniss and get super-rich like Donald Trump!"

Republicans (2020-2021):

"Employers and private companies are being mean to us. Waaah!!!"

Try enforcing your auto warranty if you refuse to have the necessary preventive mainenance done.
The vaccines are preventive maintenance for you body and you health hinsurance is your warranty.
Increase the risk for the health insurance company then pay for it yourself.

It is highly likely that more and more employers will require vaccinations as part of the hiring process. No company wants to be sued by someone getting exposed to injury, including this virus.

While most can not force people to take the vaccine, they can put pressure on them or make it come out of their pocket; to do so. I suspect we'll be hearing of a lot more of these actions until it becomes a common place requirement.

Fortunately the insurance industry is adding exclusions for "communicable diseases" CGL policies which will remove the incentive to sue employers for such things.

I'm sure companies would rather exclude coverage outright for the unvaccinated but that's problematic and the courts might not hold those up.

So this is a fair and reasonable give back to insurance companies(and self-insured employers like Delta) to at least let them collect more premium for the exposure.

About time. Hopefully this will start a trend.

Personally, I'm tired of picking up the tab for morons and their poor health decisions. Whether that be skipping vaccinations, drinking a 12-pack a day, eating 5,000 calories of fast food at a sitting, or treating aerobic exercise as anathema.

Delta Airlines is changing it's insurance policies due to the Delta Variant. Coincidence? Or leftwing conspiracy to pretend that Covid is actually a big deal?

Get Shots or Get Out, U.S. Employers Are Telling Workers
www.bloomberg.com

...Vaccine mandates are beginning a march across the U.S., constricting the places that people who have shunned the shots can work, shop and play.

A day after the federal Food and Drug Administration approved the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine, institutions central to their regions announced tougher -- perhaps bellwether -- rules. In New York, a city driven by finance, Goldman Sachs Group Inc. required bankers to prove they'd been vaccinated. In football-crazed Baton Rouge, Louisiana State University will demand vaccines or negative Covid tests to see a game at Tiger Stadium, capacity 102,000.

CVS Health Corp. this week mandated shots for corporate employees and those working with patients, while Chevron Corp. and Hess Corp. added requirements for employees on oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. Walt Disney Co. announced a deal with its roughly 40,000 unionized theme-park workers in Florida. Delta Air Lines Inc. said Wednesday that it would levy a monthly $200 charge on workers who refuse to protect themselves....

Delta's announcement came a week after Deutsche Bank AG told employees that they would only be allowed onto its U.S. trading floors if they were fully vaccinated....
