The European Union recommended on Monday that Americans should be banned from nonessential travel to its member states after a rise in Covid-19 cases in the United States.

The European Union today took an action that was unfortunately predictable: it advised member nations to remove the United States from its list of countries which had Covid-19 numbers that allowed a loosening of restrictions. As the Delta variant surges among unvaccinated communities in the US, the EU took action to clamp down on tourists entering Europe without proof of vaccination.

The EU guidance, which is non-binding but expected to be followed by most member nations, does not prohibit all Americans from entering the European Union. The guidelines are very clear: if you are vaccinated and can provide proof of your status, you are still welcome as a tourist.

If you're not vaccinated and can't get your shots and a 14 day waiting period after your last dose before arrival, you may be out of luck. The EU guidance is specifically designed to prevent you from entering Europe, even with a negative test.

Some countries in the European Union, notably the Czech Republic and Germany, already required proof of vaccination for entry within their borders. France has gone a step further and now requires an electronic "Pass Sanitaire" as proof of vaccination to enter most tourist sites, restaurants and other venues.

Meh. I went to Maui last month, it's no big deal.
If I was the EU I wouldn't let in anyone from Florida or Texas.

Poofter "thinks" that Biden is responsible for all the Trumpers that are driving up the death toll by ignoring the virus and the vaccine... or taking horse pills.

Correct. The way the Biden administration has masterfully handled distribution of the vaccine means they a large majority of US citizens 12 and up can travel with out being hindered by these restrictions. As for those who would be effected by this change, that is by and large a result off their own choosing.

Cancervative Filth Shut Down Vaccination Drives

Dr. Kathleen Toomey, the state's top health official, said for the first time this week that Georgians aligned with the anti-vaccination movement disrupted several recent inoculation drives " and forced one to shut down entirely. "It's wrong. It's absolutely wrong," Toomey said. "These people are giving their lives to help others, to help us in the state. We in Georgia could do better. We should be thanking these individuals who are trying to get lifesaving vaccines to our state." In one South Georgia county, residents protesting the vaccinations tracked down public health employees and bombarded them with hostile messages and misinformation about the vaccine. And a mobile vaccination event in an unspecified North Georgia county was canceled after an "organized" group of people showed up to harass and name-call public health workers, said Nancy Nydam, a spokeswoman for Toomey.

I agree. How much nicer to have an intelligent man who cares as president rather than that tired, old and demented former guy.

Are derogatory terms for homosexuals allowed? Would it be ok if I called Corky a f*g?

Knee jerk reaction from a right wing jerk. No thought, no critical thinking, just listen to your talking points o right wing TV and radio then repeat mindlessly what you hear. Good little right wing moron.

Daily Covid cases are at numbers not seen since last November, before we had effective and widely available vaccines. We know so much more now and we're not doing any better. So yes, thanks Joe. For nothing.

They don't ask for whom you voted when vaccinating. Too many unvaccinated for them all to be Trumpers. Especially since Trumpers tend to be older and that demographic is more highly vaccinated.

There's a reason that the covid hot spot map looks almost exactly like the electoral map. Smart states vote liberal and get vaxxed. Dumb states vote trump and don't get vaxxed.

Obviously you haven't looked at the actual data and are only repeating what you have been told because it reinforces your preconceived beliefs.

Oh you're saying you have "alternative facts" to offer? Maybe some provided by the same people who are cooking the books for desantis?

The data doesn't support your bias.

"The data doesn't support your bias."

Let me fix that:

The data proffered by a state known to repeatedly lie about Covid cases doesn't support your bias.

GIGO.

Bottom line: FL has a waaaay outsized number of US cases compared to percentage of US population. No getting around actual math.

Which it absolutely does, no matter #7's partisan delusions.

An opinion piece on CNN. Doesn't get less objective than that. Good one Corky.

No one that looks at the published data objectively can prove that Trumpers are the primary cause of the Covid resurgence. You believe what you want to believe.

here's the data dumbass: www.nbcnews.com

Deep red in the south east. Deep red in the center of the country. Much better in the north east and west.

Same as the electoral map.

To say these maps aren't similar or related is like saying 1/6 was a tourist visit.

"They don't ask for whom you voted when vaccinating. Too many unvaccinated for them all to be Trumpers. Especially since Trumpers tend to be older and that demographic is more highly vaccinated."

But polls are done all the time and all of them say the same thing. Republicans and Trumpers are getting vaccinated at a much lower rate than Democrats and liberals. Hospital admissions are over 90% made up of unvaccinated morons. If anyone is to blame for the rise in COVID cases it is the unvaccinated who made it possible for the Delta variant to become so virulent. Pretending Biden is responsible is just living in denial that Trump's lack of encouragement to his followers to get vaccinated, to wear masks and to social distance is the more accurate accusation. But right wing hate radio and TV has chosen to ignore facts and provide their listeneers with idiotic talking point which you do repeat day after day.

I didn't know it could be so much fun being the disease-laden foreigners living in a drug and gang-infested country under the duress of political unrest after suffering defeat on the battlefield in our longest war ever.

That purview always belonged to the other guys... if you know what I mean
