St. Tammany Sheriff's Office said they are investigating an alligator attack in a flooded area of Slidell.

I heard this story on the radio this morning. Wow. Gruesome.

The gators are out there, the flood just gave them new places to be. Gator attacks on humans are not very common.
You are more likely to be killed by a dog, a horse or a cow.

I'm calling BS. Gator takes and then lets his kill rot a while, before eating. Gramps could easily pop up again soon. When he does, I would check for bullet holes and blunt force trauma ...

You may be right but supposedly it ripped his arm off before she got him away from it. If the steps were still at the edge of the water, it just came back to claim the prize.

Walking in smoke for to long makes some people act weird.

I think swimming in pollution might have that effect on gators.
