... a rally planned for September 18 to seek "justice" for individuals who have been charged in connection to the January 6 Capitol riot. ... organized by a nonprofit group led by former Trump campaign operative Matt Braynard ...

They are getting justice.

What exactly is Mr Braynard really seeking?

#3 Trumpers need mental health services, but they won't be getting them.
Because instead of making help for the mental ill a priority, we prioritize punishing the criminal symptoms of being mentally ill.
Especially in Red states.

It's a lot easier to give loons ready access to firearms so they can rant about their "rats" and threaten anyone who ------ them, I.e. sane folk, than it is to actually go about the business of governing complex societies.

Issue all the cops 12 gauge shotguns. Every other person has rock salt, and no choke on the barrels. Fire at 50 feet. If that doesn't deter these rioters, fire on them with #0 buckshot, fired at the waist or upper legs. Put them down...

the time for patience with these

Personally, I would use gas grenades and
gas the whole lot, zip tie them, confiscate
all of their weapons, and put them all on
'No Gun Buy Lists' and 'National Threat Lists'
for the rest of their natural lives.

Then give them all a blanket (6mo. to 1 year) in
jail sentence to think about the 'error of their
ways'...

Oh, and let them ALL know, in no uncertain terms,
that the next time (if they are so stupid to have
a next time), they will be met with lethal force...
terminally lethal...

This time have the National Guard show up before the terrorists do. America should never forget that the Capital Police was asking for the National Guard for hours with no response due to the Sec. of Defense refusing to allow it. That was a coup attempt, no doubt about it. Remember, we only got a National Guard response because the Governors of two states went their troops in. Our Federal Government was completely in on the coup but was defeated because state governments sent in their troops, thank God! Remember, this all happened while Donald Trump was still President and wanted to be President for life. His kids already considered themselves to be Prince and Princesses. Then the Maryland National Guard showed up and said HELL NO! Now we see little of them, they are doing other things being A******s in other places. Useless pieces of filth, every one of them. Thank God their insurrection and coup faile but when are they going to be punished. I want them in prison for life. Most Americans agree with me.

This time, I GUARANTEE that DC police and Capitol police will respond with extreme measures if the protesters turn violent or aggressive. There will be no repeat of Jan. 6. Bank on it. In some ways, I get the impression that law enforcement in DC kind of views this protest as 'payback time', and are kind of hoping the protesters initiate violence so that they can respond in kind.

"When I was growing up, autism wasn't really a factor," Trump told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in 2007. "And now all of a sudden, it's an epidemic ... My theory is the shots. We're giving these massive injections at one time, and I really think it does something to the children."

In the 2007 interview with the Sun-Sentinel, Trump said of his then-22-month-old son: "We've taken him on a very slow process. He gets one shot at a time, then we wait a few months and give him another shot, the old-fashioned way. But today they pump the children with so much at a very young age. We do it on a very, very conservative level."

He told the reporter: "Everybody has their theory. My theory, and I study it because I have young children, my theory is the shots."

"You take this little beautiful baby," he said, "and you pump " I mean, it looks just like it is meant for a horse, not for a child, and we had so many instances, people that work for me, just the other day, 2 years old, beautiful child went to have the vaccine and came back and a week later got a tremendous fever, got very, very sick, now is autistic."

US per capita death totals are on par with those of other Western nations. I wasn't aware that POTUS had a magic wand that could have prevented the virus from spreading here. Heck, on 1/31/2020 he instituted a travel ban out of China and got castigated as being a xenophobe by our current commander in chief over it.

I can't stand Trump and I'm glad he's gone. Nevertheless, to suggest he had a magic wand that would have prevented a global pandemic from reaching our soil is beyond ridiculous. Babylon Bee couldn't even come up with something this self-intentionally funny.

Oh absolutely.

His lies delayed responds, created opposition, politicized and spread Covid-19.

His tax cut for himself disabled the CDC.

Bob Woodward's interview proved Trump knew about Covid-19 and it's dangers since January 2020.

That was before he went on national television to screech about Democrats attacking him with Covid Hoaxes. Making it political.

That was before he lied about there being only 15 cases. Which would soon become zero. Which would go away in warmer weather. Or after the election.

That was before it was revealed he wanted COVID to spread throughout heavily populated costal cities. In order to hurt Democrats.

He literally forced both the economy and public schools to reopen.

Trump is a literal murderer.

Only Trumping idiots don't see it.

You only think this way if you lack imagination and critical thought skills like those who were too inept to stop 9/11.

And yes, the first time our capitol was stormed in over a century is a big deal. The reason it's more so than 9/11 is it was our own countrymen doing it.

There was no way these idiots were ever going to subvert this election. We can talk about intent until we are blue in the face, it doesn't change the fact that it was never going to happen, even if they had been armed. Absolute worse case scenario is the certification would have been delayed for a couple of days, which would have been horrible yet the outcome would have been the same. It would be like a hundred hillbillies trying to storm Fort Knox. Attempted theft? Yeah, I guess. Can we be realistic here?

#105 | Posted by BellRinger at 2021-09-08 01:02 AM | Reply | Funny: 1

I'd like to see the security camera footage. I think it would provide much needed clarity about the severity of that day. All we have is cell phone videos. For example, let's take a gander at the Ashli Babbit shooting. From the camera footage I've seen only the officer's extended arm with pistol in hand is visible. Babbit was unarmed. Did he shout warnings and threaten to shoot if the crowd advanced? Perhaps. Probably, is my guess. But we don't know for sure because we don't have video footage with audio of that particular event, at least not that I've seen. Allegations have been made that police encouraged people to enter the building? Is this true? I don't know. We don't have video evidence to support or refute the allegation, but security camera footage would very likely clear that up.

Predication of severity on degrees of success has one major flaw-the most severe outcome leaves you helpless.

Not a great place to put yourself.

Not to mention it's not a great argument. The fact that a significant portion of our populace has lost ALL faith in our democratic institutions and claim, despite all evidence, that they "won" the election is a huge deal. The fact that this was fed to them by the losing candidate is a huge deal.

The fact that many, including you, continue to act as if it's not a big deal is a massively big deal.

If you genuinely love this country for what it is at its core, you wouldn't be so flippant about an attempt, no matter how inept or unsuccessful it was, to destroy it.

Fair enough. Do you want to know what else is a huge deal? That most of our media, Big Tech and the Democratic Party formed a cabal not to properly inform the public about the 2 candidates but to control all messaging in favor of one candidate over the other. That is not a conspiracy theory. "Time Magazine" wrote a massive article about it not long after the election. The crazy thing is no major media outlet (except for probably Fox News) covered their article, NOR did any major media outlet refute the article in any meaningful way. Numerous people saw this and it absolutely contributed to the distrust of our democratic institutions. It's opposite sides of the same damn coin.

Your broader take on this is actually quite narrow.

" Babbit was unarmed"

W.T.F.!

Let's call out this BS once and for all times:

If Ms. Babbit were at the US Capitol as a single individual, would she have done any of the things she did? Similarly, would the Capitol Police have drawn their weapons on her as a single individual even if she had done the things she did? Of course not! All these discussions cleverly avoid the obvious reality: the scenario played out the way it did because Ms. Babbit was shielded by the anonymity/safety afforded to those who are members of a mob and likely this emboldened her to incite and inflict violence. Whether she instigated or organized that mob is irrelevant. The fact remains a mob developed and (surprise!) began acting like a mob. Nothing in Ms. Babbits speech or actions indicates she did not want to be involved in a mob action. There is every indication the opposite is closer to the truth. It's ludicrous to even suggest that a mob is "unarmed"!

" Babbit was unarmed"

Never come unarmed to a gun fight.

If she was unarmed and was smashing windows in the middle of a mob of armed individuals, hopping through a broken window charging at a group of ARMED police officers who were screaming at her to stop while pointing pistols at her while feet away from a room full of unarmed men and women they were sworn to protect that was a pretty stupid thing to do.

But this is how the trump ballwashers work....if this were a single person on the street charging at two cops and was shot dead it would just be another "got what they had coming to them moment", but since it was trumptard attacking the capitol at the urging of the bloated-------------, then her getting shot is the ultimate travesty. They know how stupid what they are saying is, yet they cannot help themselves. The cult of trump has them that brainwashed.

This capitol police officer had a second to react when she went through the window. He did what he felt was necessary to protect the people down the hall. NONE of those terrorists should have been in that hallway in the first place. NONE of them should have smashed windows and doors to get in. She was the only person responsible for her death. Period.

She would be alive today if she:

a) Did not go to the rally.
b) Did not walk down to the capitol.
c) Cross the police barricades surrounding the capitol.
d) Climb the steps to the capitol.
e) Enter illegally through the doors of the capitol.
f) Smash the doors and windows of that hallway.
g) Climb though the smashed window separating the angry violent mob from the congress people.
h) Charge towards the armed officers.
i) Ignore there pleas to stop.

She was in control of her own destiny. She CHOSE to believe the bloated compulsive liar that a)the election was stolen 'We won this election, and we won it by a landslide' b) he won AZ and WI and PA and GA after the votes were counted, recounted, recounted again and certified c) believed him when he said her vote was being stolen from her 'We will never give up. We will never concede. It doesn't happen' 'If you don't fight like hell you're not going to have a country anymore' d) followed Rudy Colludy's order to have "trial by combat" e) believed the bloated compulsive liar was going to "be right there with them" and f) followed his orders to 'We are going to the Capitol'.

It is sad that the cult of trump was so willing to lay down their lives and freedom and rights for the orange compulsive liar. You can see why he loves the poorly educated. They did his violent bidding that day. He is scum and they are scum for following him. He knew what would happen. He was giddy when he saw what was happening. GOP congresscritters were begging him to "call off his mob" and he IGNORED THEM for hours. When he finally did he thanked them for their riot.

His actions that day make him the single worst president in history. PERIOD. Mitch and Qevin are cowards who briefly grew a backbone that day only to have them retract into the empty void of their souls afterwards. Their refusal to hold him accountable for what happened that day should relegate them to the dust bins of history.

I watched in horror that day the unfolding events. I wept for our nation. I wept for the people that died there and in the days following. Especially the ones that took their own lives in the aftermath. I still feel for the officers that were injured, had their eyes gouged out, fingers snapped, etc because of one bloated orange toddlers refusal to admit he lost a fair election.

For what purpose.

Clarity. Transparency. An investigation was performed and the details have been kept under wraps. Why? If this shooting was really on the up and up it releasing, at least a redacted version, may go a long way in assuaging at least some who believe this was a cold-blooded shooting of an unarmed woman. Keeping it hidden from public view, especially when all sorts of other police shootings are scrutinized to the nth degree by the public, adds to the perception that something is being covered up. Is this really a difficult concept?

Like many righties you're failing to see the duality in this problem as well.

There's a reason people go to the certain outlets they do to get their confirmation bias itch scratched. It's hardly a Dem thing.

In fact, what make this statement so laughable is that outlets like OAN or Newsmax don't even hide it yet the go to example of righties is "duuhhhhh CNN."

The problem is these outlets have nowhere near the reach or power of the mainstream outlets and Big Tech. These tech companies are arguably the most powerful companies this country has ever seen. In one of the grossest examples of anti-trust violations these companies shut down Parler, which was rapidly growing at the time. Is the Biden DOJ going to address this? No. Because the Democratic Party is part of this. Further, a lot of people still believe that major outlets like NYT, WaPo, NBC/ABC/CBS are straight up news organizations and therefore are to be trusted.

That's a new one for me. And a rather dangerous one pushed by someone with an apparent ulterior motive.

People should have seen that and had it erode their confidence in the media, not our democratic institutions. Using that as a justification for undermining democracy in the US sounds like a cop out and an excuse.

#112 | POSTED BY JPW AT 2021-09-08 02:11 AM

Trust in our media is already at an all-time record low and deservedly so. "Democratic institutions" is an incredibly broad term that encompasses many things including the 4th Estate. As for the other side - the allegation was that Trump conspired with Putin to steal the 2016 election. The key component of this was the Steele Dossier which without it Crossfire Hurricane could not have been launched and by extension the Meuller investigation. That the various institutions of government worked to knee cap a duly elected president of one political party at the behest of the other political party absolutely eroded trust in our Democratic Institutions. When this gets pointed out the response is: but Trump. That's it.

It depends on whether or not they died as a result of the assault or died for a completely unrelated reason. Based on the information available to us (why it took months for this info to be released seems strange to me, BTW) Sicknick's death had nothing to do with what happened the day before.

Who cares what "some" believe. If you look at that situation and think "she was unarmed, shouldn't have shot her duhhhh" then you're not really worth conversing with because

A. She was committing insurrection
B. You force your way into a barricaded area during an emergency there is going to be consequences

The problem is these outlets have nowhere near the reach or power of the mainstream outlets and Big Tech.

And yet their lunacy is repeated ad nauseum on every corner of the internet.

They're hardly some underdog in this.

at the behest of the other political party absolutely eroded trust in our Democratic Institutions.

Only the partisan see partisanship in everything.

Trump earned every single lump he got and the more we find out about how deep the corruption ran in his administration the better it was that he was "knee capped."

You don't get to elect a piece of ---- like Trump then whine when everyone does just go along with it.

Trust in our media is already at an all-time record low and deservedly so.

No, not deservedly so.

It's not nearly as bad as most make it out to be.

The major problem is that it's not telling them what they want to hear. They think their mouth breather opinions should be taken seriously despite the fact that they're barely literate and can't bother to read past the first paragraph of an article.

I clearly recall seeing video footage of the moment Babbit was shot. The news even showed graphic footage of directly after when fellow rioters gathered around her on the floor in the hall after the shot rang out. I am sure that with a simple search of the internet you would be able to find many videos of the incident (and the so-called other angles for clarity) so "Bellringer" is intentionally obtuse and not worth the time you guys are putting into these responses. Michael Brown got what he deserved and so did Ashley Babbit; if you feel otherwise I'd say that is racially motivated whether you believe it or not.

How many protested Trump's inauguration?

#96 | Posted by BellRinger

Way more than attended his inauguration. What's your point? Women in ----- hats didn't violently storm the capitol to try and reverse the election because a liar told them it was stolen for months.

#134 | Posted by SpeakSoftly at 2021-09-08 12:44 PM | Reply

There was no way these idiots were ever going to subvert this election.

#105 | Posted by BellRinger

So how do you feel about red states passing bills that allow them to ignore the results of the next election if they feel the results are "suspicious" and send their own electors instead?

His point?

To downplay and normalize the actions of 1/6.

To Defend Trump.

To Troll.

That's what happens when america's morons elect a guy who makes attacking the press his main mission. When you're a crook planning on ripping the country off, you need to make sure people don't believe it when they hear about all the crimes you're committing.

Remember when trump said he never paid stormy daniels and it was just "fake news"? Your cult doesn't care about the truth. They care about only hearing what they want to hear whether it's true or not.

You really believe that. The day after he was put in the hospital by being violently assaulted, it's a mere coincidence that he had a stroke?
Whatever you need to make it through the day, I suppose.

All we have is what the medical examiner has given us. He died of natural causes. He was hit with pepper spray twice. Unfortunately people get hit with pepper spray all of the time. The reason it's used as a control measure is because it's supposed to be non-lethal.

Who cares? Up the page you were lamenting that some people were getting information from sources like Newsmax. It seems to bother you that people don't think the right way. Some people out there may be on the fence about this shooting. Making it transparent would go a long way. Also, do you really have a problem with releasing the details uncovered in the investigation? It seems to bother you that I'd suggest such a thing.

Only the partisan see partisanship in everything.
Trump earned every single lump he got and the more we find out about how deep the corruption ran in his administration the better it was that he was "knee capped."

The Steele Dossier was central to all of it. It's a garbage document that has no backing. That it was used as essential into any investigation is likely criminal. As was how aspects of the investigations were handled, like the Carter Page FISA warrant applications. Abusing the system isn't Ok and 'because Trump' doesn't create an exception. That was third world banana Republic crap and here you are cheering it.

Trust in our media is already at an all-time record low and deservedly so.

Absolutely deservedly so. Over the past couple of decades our news media has been gradually eroding its credibility. Since the Trump years that process has been greatly accelerated as time and time again journalistic standards have been chucked in favor of a narrative. It's carried well into the Biden administration and is only getting worse.

Let's just say I doubt your motives.

As mentioned, there is graphic video taken by someone standing next to her when she was shot. It shouldn't be hard to find and I can say, having watched it, it doesn't tell us much more than we already know.

That it was used as essential into any investigation is likely criminal.

It's amazing how you see criminal action everywhere but by people like Trump. Spare me your amateur lawyer opinions.

That was third world banana Republic crap and here you are cheering it.

Not remotely.

But I note here you are focusing solely on that while ignoring the mountains of other information about Trump's wrong doings. But that's par for you course soo....

Nonsense regarding the media. You're just one of those who seeks confirmation bias and you're pissed they don't give it to you.

Hahaha yup. 1/6 was just an average day. People walking around getting pepper sprayed. Just like normal.

The media didn't declare war on trump, trump declared war on the media.

And instead of taking the side of the people who work to inform you about your leaders, you take the side of the leader who tells you the video of a small inauguration crowd you see in the media was actually the biggest crowd in history.

Smaller minds post the same quote every day and think it makes them look smart every time, when actually revealing it's the only quote they know.
