Mona Charen: Election workers have been hounded and threatened. Bomb threats have been emailed to election sites. "You and your family will be killed very slowly," read a text message sent to Tricia Raffensperger after her husband, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, declined to "find" enough votes to flip the state to Trump.

What is sick about the Right I and millions of others have been experiencing our entire lives. I think I know most of the reasons why you're so damaged. But my understanding doesn't mitigate how rawly dishonest and vicious you are. You're not even curious about your own bad behavior. Like any truly insane people you sincerely believe that you're normal and will hurt the rest of us until we nod our heads in agreement.

On the article, you can't dispute the hate from the GOP. It permeates everything they do. Their smiles are a thin veneer that can't conceal their hate, their anger. It seethes.

Doc was succinct in #1.

They might be violent, but fortunately most Republicans are stupid shortsighted morons so they'll lose just like they lost Afghanistan. You see, racists only attack brown people who dress in rags and have barely enough food to put on their table (and even then they still lose). Supremacist, right wing ------ lose most wars because, even though they have the overwhelming firepower to win, they do not have the brains to outwit.

But we -------- have these things called "morals" and "civility" and "common decency," which will be our utter downfall to Fascism in the end.

Well done YAV! You put Sentinel back in his dunce chair again.
Everything Charen said is true and documentable and it justifies my used of the term Nazis instead of RRepublicans because Dthat is what they are. There is no requirement that they admit it before we start recognizing what they are.
Dade County, Florida 2000, angry Republicans outside the Dade County Supervisor or Elections offices....all you need to know about the Nazis. America needs to wake the hell up and realize our nation is being taken over by Nazis. They don't care about honest election results, they just demand power no matter who wins elections and I despise even the lowest, run of the mill, Nazi just as much as the activists kicking in the doors of the offices of Supervisors of Elections. Their White Nationalism drives their movement and has since Richard Nixon came up with the Southern Strategy. Some people will try to tell you it isn't about race but they are either liars or just stupid.
Fact: It has always been about race in the United States.

Jakester there is violence on both sides, but it's not the same...not even close.

What happened in the summer of 2020 was anger boiling over into violence due to the longstanding problem of police brutality culminating in the death of George Floyd.

The violence on the right is planned. The message from the party leaders is we need to use violence to take power.

I wholeheartedly disagree, the 2020 protests were a call to awareness of the violence that LEO were unleashing on unarmed minorities.

It's not a both sides to any degree, any violence that occurred during the protests can be considered collateral damage, and not an entity unto itself. If there wasn't violent police brutality, there would be no protesting. At best any so-called violence from the protests can be claimed as self-defense, let alone provably instigated by right-wing vigilantes.

The police kill about a thousand people every year in this country.
But, to people who don't care that COVID-19 has killed (checks today's number) 666,236 Americans, who cares about a measly thousand?
They don't even care that COVID-19 is the #1 cop killer in 2021.
Just like they didn't care that COVID-19 was the #1 cop killer in 2020.

Here's what I said:

"Jakester there is violence on both sides, but it's not the same...not even close."

I wasn't equating the two, I was doing the opposite, but to disregard the violence of last summer even going so far as to call it self defense is disingenuous. In Milwaukee alone in a 3 day period over 200 structures were set on fire. How is that self defense?

"In Milwaukee alone in a 3 day period over 200 structures were set on fire. How is that self defense?"

It's not.

You already made the very important distinction:
The riots against police were a retaliation to police brutality.
The riots against Congress were a retaliation to peaceful democracy.

I got you, I know you weren't equating the two, but I was taking it one step further, the protests were another example of the party of violence requiring the victims to create a massive self-defense movement to protect against more violence by LEO. I was shifting the paradigm a bit, not intending to criticize your point, just expound upon it.

Who spoke at the rally before the violent attack on the capitol? The president of the United States and many other mainstream Republican leaders that's who.

I'd say a pretty big "tell" is the chorus of voices who claimed 1/6 was a false flag by Antifa and BLM.
That would be a pretty obvious go-to, if you had spent last summer doing false flag attacks to be blamed on Antifa and BLM.
