Wednesday, September 08, 2021

Joe Rogan returned to his hosting gig 8 days after testing positive for COVID-19, and addressed his use of the controversial medication, Ivermectin, insisting he took a human version of the drug that was prescribed by a doctor.

Why doesn't he have a doctor on his stupid podcast?
But I'm glad he and that other comedian made all this medical stuff clear to Rogans fanboys
Cause you know, having a podcast and telling jokes is the same as a medical degree

Yeah...so the CDC said not to wear masks...before declaring that masks were the new hotness. And everyone should wear them. Everywhere. And at all times. And cloth masks were OK. Before they were not.

And under no circumstances should you EVER wear a mask designed to protect yourself over others.

In the military, superiors always come in with instant credibility. But when they trash out that credibility, it's hard to gain it back. And the CDC has willingly trashed out any credibility they may once have had.

If my Doc told me to take Ivermectin...you're goddamn right I would. Just like if they told me to get a vaccine. But there is no ------- way I would ever take the word of the CDC over a healthcare provider.

He says multiple doctors told him to take it

Why not just have one of the on the show?

#4 | Posted by ChiefTutMoses at 2021-09-08 03:36 PM | Reply

Seems that would clear things up in a hurry by having just one of the multiple "doctors" rogan mentioned

Or maybe that is not the intent at all

Maybe it's just some asshat podcaster keeping his name in the newsz, you know, like Hillary

#3 Do you think the CDC consults with healthcare providers or not?
Do you think the experts knew everything about Covid from their medical training, or do you think they had to learn by looking at Covid data, while informed by past pandemics?

Masks may add risk if the pathogen is spread by touching your face rather than breathing.
Masks are better than no masks for air borne pathogens.
When there is a shortage of masks, they should go to people treating people with infectious diseases, not people at low risk.

Do you realize that Covid guidance should change as more is discovered about it?

Of course legallyisamoron thinks Joe Rogan is famous for nothing.

He only built a standup career to point to be cast on the sitcom News Radio, continues to tour with multiple specials on Netflix, and is a major voice in MMA broadcasting. He also trains in it at a level where he could be competitive against lower comp.

Yeah... whats he ever done?

Joe Rogan is qualified to be a loud-mouthed barker. Nothing more, nothing less.

#8 | Posted by Doc_Sarvis at 2021-09-09 07:15 AM | Reply | Newsworthy 1

but he does bring on interesting guests. It's funny to see the show labeled a source of covid misinformation, when it has featured Hofstetter and Ronda Patrick giving nothing but good, vetted Covid info.

Rogan has every right to take horse medicine if he desires... and others are free to follow him.. I wish them all luck.

"If my Doc told me to take..." #3

Since my doctor put me in a 4 day coma and almost killed me from a muscle relaxer he prescribed.... I triple check all my prescriptions online. Doctors are not infallible.

You're supposed to get your info from the credible guests not the host that calls himself an idiot constantly.

Michael Osterholm is an internationally recognized expert in infectious disease epidemiology. He is Regents Professor, McKnight Presidential Endowed Chair in Public Health, the director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP), Distinguished Teaching Professor in the Division of Environmental Health Sciences, School of Public Health, a professor in the Technological Leadership Institute, College of Science and Engineering, and an adjunct professor in the Medical School, all at the University of Minnesota. March 10, 2020.

Let me check the wiki to make sure he's not a serious source of Covid disinformation...

"Michael Thomas Osterholm is an American epidemiologist, Regents Professor, and Director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota. On November 9 he was named a member of President-elect Joe Biden's COVID-19 Advisory Board."

Feels like it's not going to be disinfo in this clip.

"I listed why he was famous"

I know. He is famous for nothing of value. Just like the kardashians, Paul Logan, honey booboo, the Hilton girls, the cretins on duck dynasty and a hole slew of other "famous" but useless contributors to society

I'm sure he could give some good advice about taking steroids and the ins and outs of standup, but beyond that it's just lowbrow entertainment

And I doubt the validity of his claim
I think this is just joe getting publicity anyway he can

Why? Because his podcast and apparent "fame" was limited to only the sausage party that idolizes him

Now he is on the news

Joe rogans podcast audience is just like the audience you find at a Ted Nugent concert

All Dudes

most sexually actively women had ever heard of this guy before

#25 | Posted by ChiefTutMoses at 2021-09-09 02:28 PM | Reply

Seems like some people need to look at the definitions of fame and value. Who's famous for really anything of actual value? By percentage, realistically no one.

"Do you realize that Covid guidance should change as more is discovered about it?"

I don't work for the CDC...but I'll tell you what I think.

Given the level of paralysis caused by the fear of COVID on this site, I can conclude that it's safe to assume that others outside the drudge retort were paralyzed by that same fear. The CDC, being at the highest echelon within the US government for this sort of crisis, immediately has the most credibility. So they issued mandates in the hopes that they would quell the fear and reassure people.

For some people, that's needed. For me, I would have preferred them to state that they didn't know exactly what would or would not be effective, but for those who were at risk, they should take every possible measure to protect themselves.

But that's me. I prefer honest realism over dishonest reassurance.

Madam Curi
Albert Einstein
Nicolas Tesla
Henry Ford
Ferdinand Porsche

The history books are full of them

I think you have confused famous with perceived popularity

But that is not my point

My point is joe rogan is just a carnival barker and a crises actor who is using the controversy of ivermectin to get notoriety.

He himself manufactured this --------, and that's why he will never have one of the "multiple doctors" on his internet show. That would put this to bed immediately in his favor, but it won't happen, because that doesn't keep him in the "news"

you missed the key, percentage.

For your list:
Madam Curi
Albert Einstein
Nicolas Tesla
Henry Ford
Ferdinand Porsche

I can easily counter with:
All of the combined casts of the different Real Housewives.

And for some creepy reason you seem to hinge famous for value by being recognizable by sexually active women. So I've easily named many more celebrities(in one line) than you that will be much more recognizable by sexually active women and could continue to name many more, by group, dwarfing your individuals.

Not that you probably understand math but the list of "worthwhile" celebs vs regular famous tends towards as the limit of 1/x as x -> infinity is 0

RIF, percentage man.

You expected I list them all? Here? On the DR?

Ok you got me

Joe rogan is "famous". And by all means, take everything he says as the truth because he loves you and not the revenue your devotion provides

By the way, I asked one of my coworkers if she knew who joe rogan was before all this, she said she didn't know his name, but said she recognized him as the fat guy from fear factor

Honestly, I think some of you may want to actually listen to the interview so you don't spread misinformation as most of the questions above are quite easily answered.

As to the what doctor?

Try Pierre Kory

Here is his NIH study on ivermectin efficacy: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov

Also, you may want to check out this double-blind study from Israel that found the same: www.medrxiv.org

I realize that the science is not settled but to say that ivermectin has not been shown to be effective is just flat out wrong. It will always take a longer time for a conclusive finding to be made but there is already a body or work that supports its use.

As to the ivermectin itself, it is taken by 250M people annually to combat conditions like river blindness. Maybe this has something to do with Africa have very, very low cases of COVID cases and deaths. We don't know, but to class all ivermectin as horse dewormer is simply parroting a MSM talking point that makes the one parroting it sound stupid. As Joe clearly states, his ivermectin was doctor prescribed.

Lastly, we have already had multiple fake stories about the prevalence of ivermectin overdose/poisoning debunked in the last 2 weeks - the Oklahoma crowded ER story and Mississippi poison control hotline being the most famous. Why did the MSM go out of their way to print knowingly false stories? Why does it continue to label the ivermectin taken by Joe Rogan as a horse de-wormer?

Are you suggesting Pierre Kory is the doctor who personally recommended he take it, or was rogans prescribing physician?
Rogan says he was told by several doctors, why not just have one of them on his show validate his claim

#35 - I don't tout studies that haven't been peer reviewed yet and are preprints. I may cite them as "interesting" or "promising" but that is it.

Your new name is a misname at best, or chosen deliberately to obfuscate. If you were truly "Skeptical" you would't cite what you did as proof when the opening bold and blue text states:

"This article is a preprint and has not been peer-reviewed. It reports new medical research that has yet to be evaluated and so should not be used to guide clinical practice."

"So should not be used as a guide to clinical practice"

That's where the doctors are wrong. And for good measure I will frivolously use "JEW" instead of Israeli in an attempt to make skepticism and criticism of this, racial
