Facebook's smart glasses are here. They're made by Ray-Ban, which means they look stylish, and as far as features go, they're on par with many "smart glasses" currently on the market, with built-in cameras and speakers.

I have a pair of Ray-Bans. They survived an 11 story fall with nary a scratch. Top notch.

Not too long now until we have glasses that permit the viewer to see through clothing. Bank on it.

Google Glass existed ... 10 years ago?
Snapchat had similar glasses a few years ago too.
Is tech and the tech-consumer base ready for v3 of this trend?

After reading through the article, I don't see how camera glasses will take off until semi-transparent screens are able to be deployed as lenses. For an example, imagine Pokmon Go, but rather than AVR on a phone, you can see the creatures via your glasses. That is the type of minimum viable product which would have wider appeal and application than a pair of glasses which can take random pictures or video for one's newsfeed.

The current product seems to only be useful for livestreamers or influencers - folks who are paid for content - and their would maybe make content creation easier..

Google Glass - our Google-branded camera glasses were completely rejected by the population at large, even coining the term, "Glass holes" Nobody would be stupid enough to try to repeat this antisocial failure of an idea.

Facebook - Hold my Ray Bans

Z'berg endorses this creepy as hell spy device, , but bans people on FB who use words he doesn't like.

What a dick.

#8 - I disagree. The google glasses looked goofy and also very obvious with that box attached to the corner. The FB version is embedded in cool looking Ray bans and is very hard to see.

Also this one is affordable at $299. Some regular Ray bans cost that much. The google glasses were about $1,500

Big differences in the two. The creepers will be snatching them up.

Mark Zuckerberg is still trying to look cool, and these specs won't do for him. And a pair of Europas or Caravan IIs will not either. Dorks just cannot be fixed ...
