While tens of thousands of American forces remain across the Arabian Peninsula as a counterweight to Iran, Gulf Arab nations worry about the US's future plans.

Biden should extract major concessions from the ME. Make them beg.

Saudi's should be spending more money on defense and less on cultural imperialism and murder.

The presence of those American bases in Saudi Arabia were used by Osama Bin Laden to recruit people to die on 9/11 because they considered a base by infidels in their country blasphemy. Those bases had been left there after the first Gulf war. After 9/11, Bush quietly closed those bases but he did so quietly so not to interfere with his farcical explanation for invading Afghanistan and Iraq ... . "They Hate Our Freedums"

Donald Trump reopened those bases and I'm convinced he did that on purpose to stimulate another 9/11 because he saw how the first 9/11 ended up giving Bush such glowing poll numbers. (don't pretend for a second that Trump isn't contemptible enough to do such a thing). Trump even gave a speech early in his administration to the effect that the only way this nation would unite behind him was another event like 9/11.

Biden should have closed those bases on day one.

Good! As I've always said, we need to stop being the world's police force. WTG, Biden. Good job. Now get our troops home.

These -------- have no leverage now that the US is energy independent. They can't expect us to do their heavy lifting anymore and fight their petty wars any more. Don't get me wrong -- sell them as many cool military toys as they can afford. But they use them, not the US troops.

Those clowns have been fighting for thousands of years and did so without the US. They can start doing it without the US again. In a few decades they'll be out of oil and all they'll have to show for it are shiny buildings, artificial islands, indoor ski slopes, etc. Good luck fighting wars and keeping your country alive with that ---- after Sugar Daddy Sam is gone.

Last week on the 'Saudi Arabie cozying up to Russia' thread (or whatever it was called) I said we should do just this and let Russia embroil themselves in this ----. But the Saudis don't have any leverage over Russia who has oodles of oil.

Too bad. So sad.

Fly a plane into the Kremlin. See how well that goes over. The Russians aren't the pushover ------- the US is.

Good luck getting past their air defenses.

As you said, "The Russians aren't the pushover ------- the US is."

They'll shoot down anything that remotely looks like a threat, and not apologize.

I'm OK with that.

Most Americans know that it was Saudis who funded the 9-11 attacks and mostly manned the airliners that slammed into the Twin Towers so why in the h ell are we defending their nation and their brutal bombing in Yemen should automatically disqualify them from any aid of any kind from America. We also should not recognize Prince Bone Saw as a legitmate leader of that nation.

Stupid Bin Laden never understood that Saddam Hussein could have easily invaded Saudi Arabia if not for America
