Greg Sargent: Ever since Mike Pence announced on Jan. 6 that he lacked power to help Donald Trump overturn the 2020 election in Congress, it's been widely suggested that the vice president was one of the few heroes in this ugly tale.

In spite of their broken "friendship," Pence is still stumping for Trump in Indiana. So yeah, that pretty much tells you he was never trying to be a hero. He just couldn't find any constitutional justification, regardless of how tiny, that could be convoluted into a defense of the actions Trump wanted him to take. No one can deny he didn't try though. He would have done it if he could.

When history is written, it will probably leave out that part.

Not being able to find justification for that which you are desperately seeking is not heroism when what you are seeking is treason

Just saying

Headline fail.
It should read "Pence in over his head, clueless about his job until the end."

Four years in, Pence should not have been asking these questions, and should have had more backbone to stand up to this mentally unstable man. It's about service to and what's best for the country, and not about one man...

There once was an invertebrate named Pence-
Who liked to sit straddling a fence-
With Trump on one side-
He used the other to hide-
Just in case his dear chief took offence.
