I'm just waiting on them to announce a new military academy so we'll actually have real life space cadets running around somewhere.

Oh man and to think of the grief the Coast Guard use to get LOL

If only the purpose was to stop threats from deep space like asteroids- instead this is just a new way to kill people. Does blood wash off the uniforms? Can't we just have the airforce do this and save cash?

Trump's fascist nerds were hoping for Star Trek and instead they got Battlestar Galactica LOL

Shut this whole farce down. Waste of money. The air force can handle it.

We need a climate change force not a space force. Or an ongoing monument to trump's insecurity.

Not as snappy as those worn by the Schutzstaffel. Those Germans dug their unis. Is there room on those tunics for a totenkopf? Asking for a fascist...

#2 - they still do. The USCG was a favorite target for USN sailors.

Why do you have to be at least 6 feet tall to join the Coast Guard?

So in case your ship sinks you can stand up and holler for help.

So we can't afford health care or education, but Trump farts out an idiotic idea and now we have Space Force? We're doomed.

The upper half of the uniform is cool. A+
The trousers?:
"hobo potato-sack style pants with no pleats multiple breaks and no cuffs: f-"

When I got visited by the ATF, if was four guys in black uniforms with upside-down orange-red plastic audio/video recoreder badges, and blasck 'Rona masks. They where very polite.

Space Force should not be polite. I want chameleon power-armor as the dress uniform. Your junk should be a nuclear weapon (the ladies get ICBM's for -------). Every time you talk its using The Voice. It enhances your sense of taste a million times so you can do urine testing on the spot. It deploys an array of magnifying lenses for a variety of reasons.

And the boots no longer have to be polished. We have a special surface for that now.

Corframs have been around for decades. THey were available when I was in the Navy back in the '70s.

The US military should spend less time cosplaying and more focusing on efficiently delivering on their mission.

They say when an Empire passes its zenith
and is headed towards decline, it starts printing
valueless money, and --- like this starts
to happen...

instead of focusing on (oh, I don't know)
the 99 or so problems that we do have, lets make sure
some military have some new pretty shiny
uniforms to parade around in...(at further cost
to the tax payer).

#23 - servicemen pay for their own uniforms. It costs the taxpayer nothing.

As a veteran who paid for all his uniforms (dress, seasonal dress, working) I know this to be true.

But you are right about nations printing valueless money. That never comes to a good end. See also the Weimar Republic, Venezuela, etc.

"As a veteran who paid for all his uniforms (dress, seasonal dress, working) I know this to be true."

As a Marine Veteran I know this to be false. All you had to do was fill out forms and apply for reimbursement. The only uniform I ever paid for was my Dress Blues that I got as an Honor Guard. And even then I could have been reimbursed by by Guard unit Commander. I just didn't think I needed it as much as the unit did.

The Department of Defense knows that the cost of this Pro-Gear adds up quickly. Military members receive a military clothing allowance to defray these costs.

This guide covers the 2021 military clothing allowance rates.

FY 2021 Military Uniform Allowances
Military clothing allowances are paid out in four categories:

Initial " only paid out once, with some exceptions
Replacement " paid out annually on their anniversary month
Maintenance " paid out every three years of active duty (Enlisted Coast Guard members only)
Extra " Also referred to as the Civilian Clothing Allowance. This is in addition to the items listed above and is for unusual assignments that require specialized clothing.

When I found out there was was "Beuaro of alcohol, tobacco and firearms" I thought it was like some kind of public service thing you can dial for help. So I called and asked them what kind of tobacco goes with a scoped out Winchester .30-06 and and Kentucky Bourbon.

It turns out that's not what they do.

It's got grifter anchor baby melanies style all over it. Did her "consulting" firm get paid a few million for "designing" these?

Don't be dork, Tor.

I considered getting a machine gun license once for an actual vintage Tommy Gun I wanted to buy. But the license cost $10,000 and you have to explain to the Chief of Police in person why you want a machine gun. That part isn't a problem. All he has to do is look into my eyes. He'll understand. The money part is a problem, though. Really only gun collectors can do stuff like that.
