More from the article...

...Paradoxically, back in April, Alaska had ranked among the top states getting COVID-19 vaccines into the arms of residents, helped in large part by efforts of the state's pandemic-conscious indigenous population. read more

Alaska has since slipped below the national average, with just 58% of residents aged 12 and older fully vaccinated, according to the state database. The vaccination slump coincided with significant political resistance to public health requirements.

In May, voters in Anchorage, the state's largest city, elected a new mayor, Dave Bronson, who campaigned against health mandates and has repeatedly expressed his refusal to get vaccinated. Dunleavy has opposed any vaccine mandates....

Alaska, over-whelmed by stupid and death-seeking Republicans, adopts crisis standards.

So, once again, the indigenous population gets screwed by ignorant, angry white people.

#7 - I guess no one can say any longer she was wrong about them.

Not that I think she would do any such thing but if Sarah Palin really wanted people to get vaccinated she'd offer to dance naked....in 2007... no one wants to see her naked now.

#8 Death Panels already existed. Insurance companies already have them. They call it the "lifetime maximum."

People who are educated about health insurance knew that.

Sarah Palin was counting on ignorant people and stupid people and cheerleaders -- and dare I say,"liberals" --thinking she was addimg something new to the conversation.

Its Alaska. There is plenty of room on the ice flow ICU. Bon voyage.

"Death Panels already existed. Insurance companies already have them."

Exactly. And frankly, it only makes sense: there are not unlimited funds for unlimited care.

"They call it the "lifetime maximum.""

They used to, before the ACA. Since maximums aren't allowed anymore, it's simply the executive decision NOT to cover that particular drug/procedure.

"People who are educated about health insurance knew that."

Yep. It's a given. For me, since the mid-late 80s: I was a volunteer national rep for Actor's Equity when the AIDS crisis hit. Victims reached the "lifetime maximum" quickly. Meanwhile, requirements to qualify for coverage jumped 60% overnight.

Ironic, isn't it, that Republicans are responsible for 'death panels' after their BS about the ACA, which is private insurers selling individual policies with no 'death panels?'

@#7 ... I guess no one can say any longer she was wrong about them. ...

She was wrong about them.

What is occurring in Alaska is nothing like the death panels, or the reasons for them, she warned of.

As always, with Repubicans, it's not irony, it's projection. Their accusations are almost always confessions.

Sarah was counting on Alaskans to cross the border into Canada and get their healthcare needs met for free. Just like she told us she did.
