I remember seeing this and thinking did he just screw up his speech? Is Trump just talking a big game again? Do I need to be ready for a fascist Insurrection on Election Day?

I'm pretty sure it was covered by a major News Network as well.

Bannon Admits He Advised Trump To Plan Reckoning' On Jan. 6 That Would Kill Biden Presidency In The Crib'
talkingpointsmemo.com

...With glee, former Trump campaign chairman Steve Bannon confirmed on Wednesday that he helped former President Trump plan the Jan. 6 insurrection as part of an effort to "kill the Biden presidency in the crib."

The Trump adviser made the comments on a Wednesday episode of his War Room: Pandemic, confirming reporting in Bob Woodward and Robert Costa's book Peril.

Bannon played a clip on his podcast of the two Washington Post reporters discussing the book on MSNBC, in which Costa said that in the days leading up to the insurrection, Bannon "privately told President Trump to have a reckoning on January 6th."

"And he said to the president, it's time to kill the Biden presidency in the crib," Costa added.

Bannon then cut the clip, and said on the podcast: "Yeah, because it's about legitimacy."

"Let's look at the Economist poll, not Revolver, not The War Room " 42 percent of the American people think that Biden did not win the presidency legitimately," he added.

Bannon's view, garbled through his own puffery and bizarre manner of speaking, also appears to confirm the book's reporting that he told Trump that the day should be a "reckoning." Unsurprisingly, Bannon's remarks manage to both posit the insurrection as a legitimate revolt while also placing himself at the center of events.

It's another piece of evidence that further ties Trump to violence at the Capitol, which occurred as Trump gave a rally repeating the Big Lie and telling his audience to go "fight" as members of Congress formalized Biden's win....

There's no problem tabulating votes electronically, but there should still be a paper ballot for every vote cast.

Hmm, when will DOJ be dropping the indictment on him for seditious conspiracy? There won't be a pardon for this POS criminal drunkard this time.

The only thing that changed from 2016 to 2020 was that Russia was blocked from voting tabulation IP addresses and mail-in ballots were more plentiful due to Fat Donnie Fail screwing the pooch on the pandemic. There WAS NO FRAUD. The only FRAUD is a FAT, ORANGE-FACED LOSER living in MAR-A-LARDO.

I didn't even remember this particular admission of treason.

He shouldn't be walking around. He should be spending the rest of his life in prison.

What? You think sending thugs into our Capital on Jan. 6 with the intention of murdering the Vice President and the Speaker of the House wasn't a coup attempt then you concsiously just don't want to understand the truth. They failed, only because both people were well hidden from the mob. We luckily avoided a real coup only because of the heroism of the Capital Police and the members of Congress themselves who helped hide the Constitutional officers necessary to certify the results of the 2020 election. Trump told Pence, he could no longer be friends with him after he said he was going to do his Constitutional duty. My respect for Pence grew quite a bit after hearing that, I reject his philosophy but he does, apparently, respect the Constitution. Mike Pence will go down in history as the man who prevented a coup and he does deserve our respect for doing that.

"MAR-A-LARDO."

I love that! It should become the standard way of referring to that home for the would be dictator.

"We luckily avoided a real coup"

Funny.

People (many of them old men) armed with flagpoles and cell phones taking pictures almost overthrew the government and took over the United States? And do it without even having guns? That truly is funny, Danni.

A successful coup requires having control of the military. Please explain to the class how this leaderless ragtag group of people (and a buffalo man) armed with flagpoles were going to convince the generals, admirals, and the Pentagon they nullified Congress and the executive office and were now in charge of the United States..

Seriously, Danni -- please explain.

Give law enforcement some credit.

They found and defused the pipe bombs left at the RNC and DNC headquarters.

Had those bombs gone off, I think things could have gone very differently that day.

You can't handle the truth. The jan6 investigation will reveal everything to you if you can pay attention. Too bad U republicans don't want to hear the truth.

Maybe have your brilliant Ms Powell explain it to you. She thinks she knows how these things work.

"Ms. Powell told a reporter for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation that the 2020 election was "essentially a bloodless coup where they took over the presidency of the United States without a single shot being fired."

#13: no. It doesn't. It requires an attempt to overthrow or disrupt the legitimately elected government. You are inventing a definition to suit your needs. It doesn't require competence, like most things, it only requires intent. In other words: if they were there to disrupt the vote counting in an effort to delay the the inauguration in a fevered attempt to keep the previous administration in power, that's an insurrection or a coup.
