Equality is equality.

Equality is not "I'll take all the GOOD parts of the opposite gender's traditional role and none of the bad parts."

And these same Republicans, who I suspect would argue that they were protecting women when they opposed the Selective Service amendment, they're the same ones who'd vote to overturn Roe v Wade and perhaps even go so far as to prevent women from serving in the military altogether. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if some of these 'conservatives' would probably outlaw contraceptives and perhaps even the right of women being able to sue for divorce.

When will the media stop calling them the "Conservative Wing" of the GQP and call them what they really are, the unserious insurrectionist clowns committed to tearing down our democracy with everything they do.

"Equality is equality."

Women aren't equal, according to many conservativepoint,

More to the point, I can't imagine Boaz and Willowby think women should get drafted.

I'm surprised conservatives haven't tried to recind women being able to have bank accounts. That would teach them a lesson.

$768 billion is obscene.

Not decreasing the DoD budget is a massive failure of the Dems.

"Not decreasing the DoD budget is a massive failure of the Dems."

A whole lot of that $768 billion is going to pay the incomes of hundreds of thousands of dedicated union employees.

Do you still think it should be decreased?

Truth be told, the MIC is the jobs program that progressives used to clamor for.

...before they determined that income shouldn't be a function of employment.

"Do you still think it should be decreased?"

Sure, why not?
Defense spending produces nothing of value.
It's for moochers like you.

You mean like the rich wanting that their 'income' shouldn't be taxed, eh? And their argument is that their 'income' has nothing to do with their employment and therefore should not be subject to being taxed. The argument being made by the super rich in this country is that ONLY the income earned by an individual actually performing a 9 to 5 job should be subject to income taxes. Any money earned thru investments, capital gains, stock options, even monetary benefits like incentive payments and bonuses and such, should NOT be considered as 'income' and therefore should NOT be subject to income tax. They also say that unless they actually get a regular 'pay check', like the janitor who cleans their office, or the barista who makes their coffee for them at Starbucks, that they shouldn't have to pay into Social Security or Medicare either.

Wrong, snoofy.

I'm all for equal rights and responsibilities.

"Wrong, snoofy."

Well. Half wrong ... maybe. I am impressed you would be ok with women in combat willowby. You sure you are ok with women in foxholes with you? Are you prepared for them to die in combat? Or are you just ok with them being drafted into the military to work at safe desk jobs far behind the lines of battle. Seems to me when one got hurt in one of the Iraqi invasions all hell broke loose at home.

But regardless, it might help us finally bring an end to wars or at least slow our violent instincts down and make us think twice about sending our young sons AND daughters to die in some forgotten war in some far away land.

Women are already cleared for combat assignments, donner. They should be able to do anything they can qualify for. As an avionics tech a foxhole would entail reverting to my secondary MOS,rifleman. If she can shoot straight, I don't care.

We got ourselves an 8,400 strong Space Force in this bill. (I still can't quite say that without a little bit of snark).
And an official focus on Artificial Intelligence and incorporating AI into all kinds of different functions.
Addresses that drone strike that killed those kids and the aid worker in Afghanistanl.
UMCJ updates on sexual assault.
Ups our commitment to the U.S.-Israel alliance.
Half a billion to help Afghans get situated.
Finally ends the ban on the transfer of prisoners from GITMO. Finally.

Space Force is one of the few places cost savings could occur. Right now we have independent space forces in the Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, CIA, NRO, DIA, NGA, NSA.. even NASA flew military missions. A unified command to curtail the massive sea of redundant programs is long overdue, pre-Trump idea.
