Just the same old conspiracy theory drive. It helps people who aren't all that accomplished feel special.

That's why Hair Furor assured the insurrectionists that they were special when he finally told them to go home. He's a con artist and knows what kind of people fall for his scams. Losers.

But not by her 4 children. Tragedy for them and politics be damned, I am saddened by this. There is no place in our politics for enjoying deaths, even if the people dying reject our way of thinking. We need to be careful not to celebrate the deaths of mothers leaving children behind. We need to stop and question our own motives, we need to stop and realize that our political tactics aren't convincing many of them and figure out why because our goal is to save lives not just to win arguments.

Best analogy ever. No not really.

Those people weren't trying to stop others from adopting safer practices, refusing vaccines, or walking around spewing viruses into the air that jeopardized the safety of their entire community. But other than that, same exact thing!

It's interesting to me that some folks are more concerned about what they perceived as so-called liberal happiness at anti-vaxxers dying of covid than they are of potential conservative negligence and potential culpability over those deaths:

Eric Feigl-Ding
@DrEricDing
MISCALCULATION BY GOP--As an epidemiologist, I think Republicans might be killing off their voter base faster than they think. The #COVID19 death rate since June 30 in counties where Trump got [over]90% of the vote are 9.5x higher than where he got [less than]10%--pretty strong.

2) To be clear, as an epidemiologist, I present this because I am worried for all public health. There are plenty of people of both political parties dying. But clearly there is a strong geographic political skew. People need to vaccinate and mask, or else it will hurt us all.

Discussion

As the Delta variant continues to spread across the country, risks are increasing, particularly for people who remain unvaccinated. White people account for the largest share of people who remain unvaccinated ...

www.kff.org

The point being is that numerically there are far more white people unvaccinated than any other race since they still comprise the largest category of Americans.

The percentage of millions less Blacks is far less important than the actual largest number of unvaccinated Americans being white, correct?

The numbers I looked at were per capita.

#71 | Posted by BellRinger at 2021-09-26 01:11 PM | Reply | Funny: 1

The numbers I looked at were per capita.

The chart you referred to in post #61 is "Percent of Total Population that Has Received at Least One COVID-19 Vaccine Dose by Race/Ethnicity, March 1 to September 20, 2021."

Each group is rated within itself with no regards to the actual size of the groups. The percentages are per capita within the groups but again one has to adjust for the actual numbers of people comprising each group - with whites being by far the largest. So even though "per capita" whites are vaccinated at higher rates than blacks, millions more whites are unvaccinated than blacks.

As I stated, your interpretations of the data while correct to the chart's recording is not representative of the actual larger numbers of unvaccinated whites compared to unvaccinated blacks. And because we're talking about an infectious disease, the actual numbers of unvaccinated is far more important than demographic breakdowns not based on the totals.

Not sure why I should feel sorry for those who decided to go the COVID route without availing themselves of the vaccine.

Also unclear on why celebrating the death of those who recklessly spread disease and tried to stop public health measures is frowned upon by our purportedly "pro-life" retorters.

See, this is why I'm against vaccine mandates. Thins the herd.

Dark joke aside, I really am against mandates - I have never believed that the government can be in the right when it takes away bodily autonomy, be it drugs, abortion, or in this case, vaccines. I might rethink that position if the vaccines granted sterilizing immunity, but they don't. One of my best friends and her kids just got Covid a month ago after having already been vaccinated. So the vaccinated are carrying it, are exposing others - just not dying from it as often.

However, while I'm against it being government mandated, I'm all for informed choice, and informing people - make the damn choice to get your vaccine. I work in long term care. Last year was no joke, the worst thing I have ever seen and experienced. We lost probably 20% of our residents to Covid. Tragic, senseless, and yet it was probably the nursing staff of all people who caused it to spread so quickly because they couldn't be bothered to even take masks seriously - until it was already too late and ripped through the whole building. Not that masks are perfect, I was wearing one myself at the moment I was most likely exposed and contracted it - but I could feel it slipping and air going by the sides while I was helpless to reposition it, holding up a patient who was shaking so hard from fever and hypoxia the aides couldn't hold him to transfer him as we got him ready to send out to the hospital. That's how ugly this virus is. We haven't lost one person to it since the vaccines though. So if you aren't, please get vaccinated, for your own good.

You realize vaccine mandates aren't anything new, right?

In order to attend elementary school you needed to provide vaccination records.

The only reason the COVID vaccine is a big deal is because Donnie Dumbffffk told idiots covid is a hoax.

Shut up and get your vaccine, or die off.

#77 | Posted by ClownShack at 2021-09-26 04:46 PM | Reply

Did you even read the whole comment?

Mandates are just pointless at this point. Most scientists, epidemiologists, Doctors, etc are beginning to admit this disease has turned endemic. The vaccines do not produce sterilizing immunity. The vaccinated are spreading it just as much. This isn't going to play out the same as when we eliminated smallpox - that vaccine did create sterilizing immunity. As do many of the ones we do require for schools and such. In that case, it makes sense.

However, the vaccinated aren't dying from it nearly as often. So I'm begging people to take the vaccine of their own free will. But those who want to gamble with their own life, I guess have that right. Again, I wouldn't say that if the vaccine caused sterilizing immunity, because in that case, vaccinated wouldn't be transmitting it. But right now, they are. And the more we keep trying to force this group to get vaccinated, the more they seem to dig in and refuse.

So let them. Sadly, maybe when enough of just their own die, they'll catch on.

Regardless of my response. It was a response.

You add nothing to the conversation.

Sad face for you.

Mandates are just pointless at this point.

No they're not.

They set the precedent that you need to be vaccinated.

The vaccines do not produce sterilizing immunity.

How is this your argument?

There are many benefits to getting vaccinated. Including shorter durations of being sick. Milder reactions. Reducing the chance to spread it to others. Less variants.

#55 According to a CNN analysis a couple of months ago fax hesitancy isn't relegated to political affiliation - it's been pretty much across the board. It doesn't surprise me though that you'd narrow it down to Trump or his supporters though.
#57 | POSTED BY BELLRINGER

Yes, and as we repeatedly pointed out to you when you started a thread on the topic: vaccine hesitancy was across the board, but vaccine resistance fell more heavily on the GOP side of the aisle. You refused to see the difference then, and it looks like you refuse to see it now.

Politicize it and the results are predictable. Democrats ripped Operation Warp Speed to the nth degree until they inherited the vaccines. Since then the messaging has been terrible.

"Politicize it and the results are predictable."

Yes, and since so many Republican politicians politicized the pandemic, that's why the majority of the vaccine (and mask) resistant are right-leaning.

The politicization truly has done wonders for it. The party of personal responsibility continues to age that old term like sour milk.

In an ordinary world you'd expect republicans doing all they could to assure they had first access to the vaccine and forget the poor, while a few crazed vegan lefties screamed about big pharma and refused the vaccine. I can't make heads or tails of it anymore. Nobody even cares about what their preferred party (supposedly) stands for, just that they stand against the other party. Even if it completely flip flops with every administration.

"Democrats ripped Operation Warp Speed to the nth degree until they inherited the vaccines."

Operation Warp Speed was a government spending program.
Republicans say those don't work.
Republicans were the ones getting ripped.

Operation Warp Speed was a government spending program.

Operation Warp speed was a public/private targeted program with a single goal in mind. It worked in part because the normal government roadblocks were bypassed.

Democrats and progressives crapped on it early and often. Honestly, thank Gosh Biden won. Had Trump won these vaccines would be demonized to the nth degree by the left - "If Trump says take it, I'm not taking it" - Kamala VP

It worked in much larger part because government spending works.

As you have been told before, the first and best vaccine was created by Turkish immigrants in socialist Germany. Warp speed did not aid the BioNTech vaccine development.

Merkle gets all the credit.

Riiiiiiiiight. It always works. It's Utopia. Never a wasted penny. Especially when it's spent on things Republicans push for. You must be pissed that Biden halted government spending on the border wall. After all, "government spending works."

No, Democrats believe in both science and government funding of science.

Maybe you're thinking of Trump's antics with respect to PPE, while vaccines were being developed. Where a Republican governor hid his PPE from Federal authorities so it wouldn't be seized by Trump's good.

"#96 So, you're saying the Border Wall is an example of a good government spend?"

It's a bad policy. Spending good money on a bad policy is never going to be a good idea.

Government funding for science, on the other hand, is good policy.

In hindsight, I wonder if the reason we don't have the Superconducting Supercollider in Texas is because Republicans feared that government spending would be shown to be obviously successful.

Well, that is quite the admission. I agree with you about that. Of course, "bad policy" is often in the eyes of the beholder but at least you acknowledge that government spending, by itself, isn't Utopia.

Sure, because all that government spending on prisons for the War on Drugs and invading a nation that never attacked us on 9/11 is good.
