Obama: "[BBB] is paid for by asking the wealthiest of Americans, who have benefited incredibly over the last several decades ... to pay a few percentage points more in taxes in order to make sure that we have a economy that's fair for everybody."

More from Obama:

"I think that they can afford it. We can afford it. I put myself in this category now," Obama told Roberts.

"It's paid for by asking the wealthiest of Americans, who have benefited incredibly over the last several decades -- and even in the midst of a pandemic, saw their wealth and assets rise enormously -- asking them to pay a few percentage points more in taxes in order to make sure that we have a economy that's fair for everybody," Obama said.

"I think anybody who pretends that it's a hardship for billionaires to pay a little bit more in taxes so that a single mom gets childcare support or so that we can make sure that our communities aren't inundated by wildfires and floods and that we're doing something about climate change for the next generation -- you know, that's an argument that is unsustainable," he added.

A little different from "I've always been selfish all my life and only paid $750 in income taxes" Trump, eh?

Donnie Fail is the skidmark on the skivvies of America.

The math doesn't support Obama's assertion. There's a massive funding shortfall in the bill and more can kicking.

In case you are wondering, they are using Dynamic Scoring to pretend the bill is revenue neutral.

That's exactly what Republicans just did, and Democrats did before that.

What America needs is democrats who are willing to play hardball.

Call out the republicans publicly for what they are, anarchists who enjoy seeing people suffer.

Make people's personal choices have consequences. No flight privileges for unvaccinated people. No hospital entry for unvaccinated people.

keep paying our bills regardless of debt limit legislation, and make the republicans sue to stop it, then drag it out in the courts for years if they do sue.

I am not interested in what Obama has to say.

Shocking! A Dem says America needs what Dems are throwing down, which consists mostly of opinionated topics. Some are great, nowhere near enough to justify $3.5 trillion though.

"What America needs is democrats who are willing to play hardball."

You forgot a part..."What America needs is Democrats who are willing to play hardball and call out their own party when they do something wrong, especially when they do something wrong that they demonized the GOP for doing.

Until that happens by either party, nothing will change. Today's GOP wrongdoings are tomorrow's Dem opportunities, and vice versa. And there is pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeenty of evidence to support that claim no matter what your opinion may be.

If Obama thinks we need to spend all this money to combate climate change why did he spend 12 million for a mansion and 29 acres on the ocean? He's either incredibly stupid or thinks it's not a problem.

#28 - because he has the money.

Think of that 28 acres as land that will not be developed with dozens of smaller energy consuming homes.

Also on #8 - his place is 6,800 ft^2. Yes, that's big, but my house, which is by no means large at all is more than 1/4 that size. So think of his place as being as large as 3 or 4 average sized homes, but the 29 acres it sits on could have been developed with dozens more.

Does that make you feel better?

Yeah right, when the Republicans incurred trillions of dollars of debt they used the money to rebuild infrastructure and help the American people. Now back to reality, they chopped taxes for the rich and let the rest of us pay for it. Republicans don't do things to help Americans unless those Americans are billionaires.

Because those 29 acres won't exist by the time he's elderly according to ice melt charts.

The US real estate market does not believe in climate change. It believes oceanfront properties are extremely high value, appreciating assets despite physical expiration dates that happen sooner than the average mortgage gets paid off.

And when somebody says "well they're rich, rich people can buy it and lose it and not care." That doesn't work for me. Obama has been disciplined with his affluence. They purchase appreciating assets, they're not out blowing it on depreciating toys.

It's amazing how it never fails.
The GOP can throw Trillions at a war here,
and a war there, it can CUT TAXES for millionaires
and billionaires a Trillion here, and a Trillion there,
but God Dammit if the Middle Class wants a dime?! Boy
howdy do they go off on a face foaming race fest then!

I have ZERO sympathy for rich folks whining that they
finally have to kick in after DECADES of getting tax breaks
for those whom already have the most...

Zero Fecks Given...
