The discount retailer Dollar Tree has broken its promise to sell everything for $1. Rising shipping costs, higher labor costs and supply chain woes are the likely causes. "For decades, our customers have enjoyed the 'thrill-of-the-hunt' for value at one dollar - and we remain committed to that core proposition," said CEO Michael Witynski. But now the thrill costs $1.25, $1.50 or even $5.

I went to the 24 hour convenience store last night and the owner was locking the door. I said "I thought you were open 24 hours?" He said "Not in a row"

Dollar Tree Canada has been the 1.25 tree for years. I guess it's about time we caught up to speed.
