Elections have consequences. Need those pols in DC--left, right and center--be reminded of that fact? In this case the consequence of the 2020 giveaway by Nobel Peace Prize recipients-to-be L'orange Fascist and Fat Mike was that the succeeding president honored that agreement and brought it to pass.

The real objection to Biden's Afghan exit came from the belief that the stupid dotard, if re-elected, would have disavowed his own agreement and stayed in Afghanistan. Thus, no one raised much of a stink over the agreement, believing that Trump would have forgotten about or ignored what he had done. Except in country, the Taliban would have remembered and delivered a fight to the door of US troops on the ground.

Biden did the right thing by getting out of Afghanistan...

Bs. The taliban "reinforced" the agreed upon deadline by bombing the airport making those casualties the last to die in Afghanistan.

Anything AFTER the deadline would have meant war as far as the taliban was concerned and militarily 2500 troops would not be sufficient for the onslaught.

We got out with most intact. Be grateful and above all,be honest.

Bush should have carpet bombed any region that didn't surrender the moment they were told to in 2001.

Defence Officials: US-Taliban Deal Hastened Afghan Collapse

Of course it did. Had Trump included the Afghan government in his surrender talks with the Taliban instead of locking them out, they wouldn't have felt abandoned, leading to hundreds of thousands of U.S. equipped and trained Afghan military laying down their weapons against a force a small percentage of their size.
