Chris Cillizza: Liz Cheney is going to New Hampshire. In early November she will travel to the Granite State to speak at an event honoring the First Amendment at the St. Anselm College's Institute of Politics. This is not a random trip.

She would be a powerhouse in a general election. She would mess everything up for both Republicans and Democrats. And she may be the closest thing to a Thatcheresque/Merkelesque double barreled female politician as we have in this country. Nobody other than fanatical MAGATs question her strength or her patriotism.

Note: Lest there be confusion, there is no way in heck I would ever vote for her.

I hope she goads the fat stupid loser into saying something that 75% of Americans will reject.

#1 and #2. How I felt about Elizabeth Dole years ago.

Trump v. Cheney: That would be perhaps the greatest primary contest of my lifetime. A blubbering, mentally ill, narcissistic cult leader v. an old school conservative Republican who is female and has a track record for integrity. LOL. With today's GOP I think it would be a very entertaining race. The Party would once again be able to tell us where they stand and what they stand for. And once again, I suspect, they would give us all the wrong answers.

I'm not jumping on that bandwagon.

@#6 ... She's a rigidly right-wing Republican who got on the wrong side of a power struggle with her fellow rigidly right-wing Republicans. ...

The article tries to paint Rep Cheney's disagreement with the GOP as political...

...She's a rigidly right-wing Republican who got on the wrong side of a power struggle with her fellow rigidly right-wing Republicans. ...

Her disagreement is not a political power struggle, it is about loyalty to the Constitution.

"Her disagreement is not a political power struggle, it is about loyalty to the Constitution"

I'm sure Liz sees her path to power and lasting fame quite clearly. Still, she is a Cheney and thus, an insider, beholden to the MIC. More of the same. No thanks.

Hopefully she does. This would be the perfect storm.

Cheney is definitely going to run for president and she has a chance of winning because she isn't a worthless fascist.

There are a lot of Est Repugs that would be less dangerous in the short term than Trump; she only looks "good" compared to him.

Think I read that DeSatanist is tied with Trump for the GOP nomination.

My big questions: Does DeSantis have any soul left to sell to Vladimir Putin?

Or is his ego so big that, if elected, he thinks he can complete the destruction of democracy better than Donald Trump?

The competition for America's first Dictator is going to be stiff.

Every big name in the Republican Party wants to be one ~ or at least be a mover and a shaker in the new dictatorship.

"Cheney is definitely going to run for president and she has a chance of winning because she isn't a worthless fascist."

If America wants to right our ship of state, if we want to kill Trumpism, first we have to deal with the treasonous behavior of some recent Presidents like George W. Bush. His lies that took us to war in Iraq cannot be forgotten and neither can we just forgive those who most ardently supported them, such as Lynn Cheney. She actively supported that invasion and called those of us who objected traitors. She doesn't get a free pass on that. If she were to run for President all of that would be brought back and she, like her Father, would appear to be virtual Fascists just like the Trumpers that she now opposes.
America just does not need another Fascist and Liz Cheney is one even if she has opposed Trump, she obviously approved of Fascism when it suited her purpose but Trump's level of Fascism offends her, which is good but America needs a leader who is not tempted by Fascism at all. We need a leader that rejects Fascism with 100% of their soul. There is no room in America for Fascism on any level which, unfortunately for Liz Cheney, there is no place on the national stage for her. She is just trying to sell Fascismlite, she is trying to pretend we have already forgotten about the Neocons lying us into war in Iraq.
No, she is not Presidential, she is reprehensible and it is our responsibility to remember that, apparently, too many of us have very short memories.

Liz Cheney may strongly disagree with the way Trump handled his term in office but he's just the public face of the fascism that rots the whole Republican Party party from the top down. Although the GOP doesn't publicly display it's support in so many words, they certainly give it their tacit approval through fundraising ~ which Cheney would need if she runs for president.

One thing I haven't seen yet is Liz Cheney changing parties ~ which she would do if she has truly abandoned the fascism that she knows full well is the driving force behind the GOP.

God no. Cheney as POTUS? Get real man. New wars everywhere, militarism unbound. She would lead America into wars of aggression, that even W, would blanch at. Her pedigree suggests bloodshed and destruction if she won. Even Trump is better than that! God help us.

What Liz Cheney is doing now to help the Democrat party is a one off. I wouldn't depend on her to hold that course if she ever became president as a Republican. No, No and absolutrly NO!

Liz Cheney should run as a Democrat.

She'd win.

CLOWN

Then she'd have to run against Joe Biden, the man she claims to support now.

I don't trust switchers. Look how easy Trump switched from Democrat to Republican.

The whole Cheney family is engrained in the Republican Party. Probably not the Trump Party calling itself Republican now but former Republican presidents and the former Republican Party doesn't have much to brag about either. It seems all they think about is starting a war someplace, blowing a hole in the national debt and cutting social entitlements to pay for it while they spend like drunken sailors.

No thanks. I'll stick to a tried and true Democrats.

Twin.

I doubt Biden runs in 24.

He was supposed to be only doing one term.

She recently again said that waterboarding isn't torture. Anyone here want to test that theory? What a monster.

CLOWN

"I doubt Biden runs in 24."

I'm aware of that. I misspoke. I shouldn't have named Biden specifically. It's Biden's agenda Liz Cheney would be running against in 2024, not the man himself.

Repubs need a front man. No one is gonna vote for anyone who supported the idiot. So I'm gonna be watching this and keeping track. Many hated "W" ... I loved the man. Great leader and Uniter. And Dick was a badass vice..I miss those days ...

Hahahahahahahahhhaahahah Liz Cheney could not get elected dog catcher, let alone president. Probably only be able to get elected in CT, the state that elected Da Nang Dick, who lied about his military service. Everybody in the state must be on drugs.
