Jimmy Carter is still alive and doing well and his remarkable life has now even been made into a comic book. Honestly if I had a chance I would read a book come book or watch a film based around his saving a nuclear power plant from disaster.

First W and then Obama and then 45, Ol' Jimmy rarely gets mentioned as the worst President any more.

.... you completely forgot about Trump and he's not important right now either what's important is Jimmy Carter.

I remember GOPers being scandalized because the guy wore a sweater.
I also remember a guy who, while addicted to micromanagement, seemed to be a decent human being.
Rare in his line of work (politics, not peanut farming).

I really don't remember much about his presidency however afterward he is the epitome of a diplomat, statesman and just a GOOD human being.

I loved Jimmy. He wasn't corrupt. And just like George Washington he went right back to farming and his slaves (Lincoln didn't free them all).

Which is why the GQP hate him...he shows how awful they really are.

As far as his presidency, he was handed a ----- sandwich by his GQP predecessors and tried to do a decent job.

Unfortunately he was and is a decent human being...that doesn't work so well in Washington.

I'd happily harvest some GQP organs to give him another 20 years.

Happy Birthday, Mr. Carter.

Carter inherited inflation from the Nixon adminstration and was blamed for it. He gets a bad rep for his Presidency, he was actually a pretty good President. He stood up to the Russians when they invaded Afghanistan, he was certainly not a weak person. The Republicans demonized him pretending we didn't remember Tricky Dick and his corrupt administration, it's what they do, to take the spotlight off of their own corruption. The next President stupidly went to war with Iraq and their U.N. ambassador tried to convince us that the evil Iraqis were bayoneting babies which was later proven to be a total fabrication but none of the Carter critics ever acknowledged that fact. I would rather have 10 Jimmy Carter Presidencies than another 1 of any Bush, much less the ------- Trump. Jimmy Carter had more class in his pinky than Bush or Trump had in their entire bodies.

President Carter brought evangelical thought to the fore and caused Americans to think about basic human rights around the world. His brand of evangelism had little in common with the modern folk who call themselves evangelical while grubbing for money and power, spewing hatred of those different than they, and twisting the biblical words they get half right. Carter is despised because his message had and still has a lot more to do with peace and love than hatred, bigotry and the accumulation of wealth. A former president teaching Sunday school into his 90's? If L'orange Fascist lives that long he will spend his days insanely accusing others of breathing his air ...

Carter is a good man, but a horrible leader. Apt that his biography is a comic book.

Carter was a descent, hard working, smart and very honest and honorable man. Americans have shown they prefer corrupt, war mongering liars for POTUS. Your opinion of Carter says more about you.

He saw a UFO.

And cried when informed about the true nature of UFOs pertaining to the universal reality that we actually live in, proving the speculative narratives brought forth by religions are, in all actuality, simply mythical.

Now, I am a committed atheist, but people like Jimmy Carter helped me understand that all caring and decent people worship at the same altar, even though the words on the wall outside might be different. Baptist, Buddhist, Atheist...we gather and we do our best,, and Jimmy Carter is one decent and caring human being.

When Boaz-0 lays down a critique of Carter's leadership ability I keep in mind that Boaz-0 thinks Bushturd2 and Trumptidumped were good leaders.

They are 2 out of the 3 republicl0wn presidents who left office in disgrace in less than half a century.

What saved Regoonitunes from that fate was senility... so technically it was 3.5

Carter is a well-known Baptist so any Malarkey about how he's not religious is just bologna.

Anybody who does the stuff Jesus says to do is pretty much guaranteed to be a good person.

Since people are always looking for loopholes, it's also important to not do the stuff Jesus says not to do.

If you haven't seen the movie Noah with Russell Crowe I do recommend it.

The protagonist and his family are trying to lead a moral life and not force it on others.

Their wrestling with secular needs is a central theme.
