An Idaho Republican lawmaker says he's haunted by his mother's death from COVID-19 after she chose not to get vaccinated. Acknowledging that what happened was a product of Mom's choice kind of throws a strange wrinkle in the grieving process," state Rep. Greg Chaney told the Idaho Statesman.

Sorry for his loss, but it doesn't seem this guy's worldview is well equipped for dealing with life beyond tribalistic fairy tales.

No, your mom wasn't. Not at all.

"She was, however, a very skeptical person."

Had the same problem in my own family but I risked alienating them, pissing them off, making them reject me in the future but they finally got vaccinated, if for no other reason, just to shut me up. I'm sort of proud!

In this era we risk relationships to get our loved ones to get vaccinated. Do whatever you have to do. When they get COVID and die you will wish you had.

I'm sure glad my mom isn't a member of his mom's cult.

I would put money on the fact that his mom took him in for all the required vaccinations when he was a kid, just like every other mom did before the zombies ate their brains.

From his remarks, he is obviously somewhat troubled by the results of his cult, but he is still not questioning the cult its self. WOW. Freedumb.

"I would put money on the fact that his mom took him in for all the required vaccinations when he was a kid, just like every other mom did before the zombies ate their brains."

Several points here debunk the "irony" of that comparison:

This is still not a required vaccination for the general population.
The required vaccinations we had as kids had been around for years.
The required vaccinations we had as kids were mostly one series and done, not endless boosters every 6-12 months.
The decision of making preventative healthcare choices on behalf of your own children who have their whole lives ahead of them is not necessarily the same decision an older adult would make for themselves.

You weren't around for polio. I'll bet you never worried about polio. Do you really not know the reason why?

Well done Zed! These dummies think they have actual ideas when they really just have right wing talking points which ignore all facts, history and science but which they still think are valid ideas. That's why I call them dummies.

"The decision of making preventative healthcare choices on behalf of your own children who have their whole lives ahead of them is not necessarily the same decision an older adult would make for themselves."

That's why they call us parents dummie. We have to make the decisions about important things before they are old enough to make their own decisions. By the time they are old enough they could have already contracted many life threatening and life challenging diseases like Polio. It's our job to make those decisions. Who do you know, dummie, who actually got polio. My Grandmother had it long before vaccinations were available for it. Your comment, above, was so stupid as to be obscene. What a total idiot you are. You should realize that the threat of certain illnesses was so great that the decision about vaccination was, long ago, taken out of the hands of stupid parents like you because the diseases those vaccinations prevent were so egregious that we just couldn't let idiots make those decisions.
Now today, the stupid parents are demanding that their kids should not have to get vaccinated for COVID nor wear a mask to school. Stupid is no way to parent a child. After they get COVID and die it is too late for the crocodile tears and sorrow that you wouldn't listen to science. We all read about such cases on a daily basis but you still want the right to be stupid. Fine if it only affects your own life but when it affects the life of your child you should be charged with Manslaughter if your unvaccinated kid dies from COVID.

"The decision of making preventative healthcare choices on behalf of your own children who have their whole lives ahead of them is not necessarily the same decision an older adult would make for themselves."

But it gives those kids a mucher better chance of experiencing their "whole lives ahead of them." Basing your decisions about vaccinations on right wing propaganda and thereby risking your kid's life out of loyalty to a cult should be grounds for remmoving the child from your custody.

The word endless in there is bullschit hysterics used by ignorant drama queens.

We have zero evidence that a yearly booster will be required for COVID.

And BTW many childhood vaccines are multi shot series with suggested boosters.

TDAP every ~7 years. Required when young, recommended for adults, strongly encouraged for soon to be parents.

You are just wrong, period.

The anti-covid-only-vaxers will jump through hoops to explain how this is different, but it is not. All vaccines have operated the same way. Never ever in the history of vaccines has there been any delayed adverse reaction. If there is a bad reaction, which is always quite rare, it happens almost immediately, and never weeks or months in the future. Not ever in the history of vaccines. Not when George Washington had his vaccine mandate, and never before or since.

What is different this time is that many more people are in a cult. The first rule of cults is that you don't realize you are in a cult.

Ask you local anti-covid vaxer why they would get other vaccines for their children and not the covid vaccine, and watch them squirm.

We get a new flu shot every year, BellRinger.

Every. Year.

And even then sometimes it's not too effective.

Try using your brain more and your mouth less. You don't use your mouth as good as your mom either.
