It seems like a guy who has built his career on lies like Cawthorn has, would not want his voters judging him based on "Christian principles"

Madison Cawthorn wants to be Caliph.

Old Jews were Christians?

I thought the new testament changed the requirements set in the old testament.

If not, imma take me some neocons outside the gates of the city and kill them....as specified.

"time for the American Christian church to come out of the shadows,"

Because it's been in hiding for so long...

I'd make a great Christian theocrat.

Outlaw late term abortion, the death penalty, and medical bills.

All but the worst criminals get out every 10 years and gay marriage is outlawed but lesbianism is encouraged especially if they're hot yo.

What?

This is what a modern Christian theocracy would kind of look like.

Did I mention some forms of prostitution would be legal?

Some of us are capable of acting ethically and principled without the threat of afterlife reward or punishment.

Others like this fascist supporter choose to ignore everything jesus cared about while still calling themselves christians.

Separation of church and state seems to be a one way street.

#8. Desire for a good afterlife can be a powerful motivator for living a moral life. I don't pretend to know what the afterlife, assuming it even exists, will be like but if the promise of a good afterlife inspires people to do good things ... sometimes it doesn't matter how we get there.

You know what's sad, Boaz.

Is you don't even know the demographics of North Carolina. The history of gerrymandering in the state, or the fact that NC has a bigger liberal/moderate population, than conservative.

You're on the losing side of history.

This on a thread about a representative from NC calling for theocracy and religiously motivated violence.

STFU dude.

You'd better hope there's no heaven or hell. Although I'd pay a lot of money to watch you try to explain your support of modern conservatism to st peter at the pearly gates.

St Peter: It says here you fought for decades against caring for the sick, the poor, and immigrants. All the things that jesus taught you to practice.

You: Yeah but i fought against abortion and gay stuff!

St Peter: Jesus didn't care about those things.

Because you morons cheat your elections and then send the cheating winners to DC where they ruin lives for people outside your state.

You want to be left alone with your stupidity? Keep your stupidity inside your own state.

Oh so you just passionately support and try to elect leaders who are totally opposed to what you say you believe in.

Yeah that makes sense.

This guy demonstrated his lack of cultural literacy in how he discussed '1984'. In these comments he demonstrates his lack of knowledge of American history and many historical figures (e.g., Washington, Jefferson, Franklin and Alex. Hamilton) who didn't spend a lot of time in church or in prayer. Those men sought freedom of religion, as well as freedom from religion...

No different than many of you Libs being on the side of the squad who is trying to spread Theocracy as much as possible, and at the same time trying to get another country to be destroyed due to Theocracy. Can't make this stuff up. If it's a bad thing, why haven't so many of you finally come out and demonized the trash that is the squad?

I guess why your side hates them so much. It's hard to say you're the party of the people then just serve billionaires. You hate the squad because they actually do fight for the working class, and you all have to oppose them and fight against the working class.

Right wing populism has been exposed as pure racism and xenophobia. Left wing populism that fights for the working class is the biggest threat to you because it could steal votes from people who want populism but not white supremacy or fascism.

What does this even mean?

Squad? Liberals are spreading theocracy?

Do you know what the word Theocracy means?

#22 | Posted by ClownShack

No. But he's learned from trump to just accuse your opposition of whatever they accuse you of.

If you're putin's puppet just say your opponent is putin's puppet. If you want theocracy just say liberals want theocracy. No evidence is required when dealing with utter morons.

How many times in this clip does he call for people to stand up and yet I never see him standing up.

What's up with that??

"wants his constituents to push government leaders to "uphold Christian principles.""

Except, of course, feeding the hungry. housing the homeless, and caring for the needy. We'll have NONE OF THAT!

Would like to see him and the governor of Texas have a race down a flight of stairs. I wouldn't even care who the winner was.

Christian principles. FFS. GOPers need to quit fooling themselves, drop the Christ, and just refer to themselves as Trumpians.

For one, they don't follow the teachings of Christ.

For two, they give the people that do a bad name.

Madison Cawthorn wants his constituents to push government leaders to "uphold Christian principles."

Like what??

Welcoming the stranger?

Feeding the hungry?

Worshipping in private?

Healing the sick?

Madison is a sick rapist --- and needs to STFU about "christian" principles because he has none.

How about your bribe taking candidate for governor? Is he corrupt enough to win the GOP nomination?

www.wral.com

NC GOP chairman, major political donor indicted in alleged bribery scheme

Why does it seem every single member of the GQP is a criminal?

Is that more Christian values on display?

"Leave us the ---- alone!"

Then stay out of my US capital, sit down and STFU .

Lead, follow or get the hell out of the way.

This guy brought attention to your beautifully crappy state and your hateful death cult and NOW you want to be left alone?

GFY insurrectionist.

C'mon, we all know "upholding christian principles" is simply a dog whistle for "perpetuating a white christian patriarchal society"

Well, perhaps poor Boaz doesn't. But the rest of us here do.

You make a valid point that some delusions can be beneficial. However the afterlife delusion doesn't correlate with a moral life. Just look at those who seem the most delusional and how they behave.

Theocracy is fine so long as it is my belief system with all it's eccentricities and injustices which is being forced on everyone else.

"These believers were "zealous for the law" (21:20), which Acts probably understands in a mostly honorable way (cf. 23:3; 24:14; 25:8; 28:23; Luke 2:24-27, 39).

Paul himself is ready to show his solidarity with his people in this way (Acts 21:23-26).

Paul was not against Jewish people honoring the law; he was against imposing it on gentiles as a condition for being right with God or being "first-class" believers (13:38-39; 15:1-2). Leaders in the Jerusalem church understood and agreed (21:25)."

"And yet Paul's story didn't end with his violent zeal. Paul had a miraculous vision where the resurrected Jesus spoke to him directly. And the message completely reframed Paul's understanding of how God's kingdom was established in the death and resurrection of Jesus. While Paul had been expecting a political kingdom that would free the Jews from the rule of Rome, Jesus brought a heavenly kingdom that freed humanity from the rule of sin.

When Jesus is on trial to be executed, he says, "My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place." Like Paul, Jesus could have used force to bring about the kingdom. But instead he chose to use love and humility."

The one thing rwingers have is consistency... they are consistently wrong about politics, economics, society, and oddly enough, especially about religion.
