The September showed a ninth consecutive month of net payroll gains in the U.S. economy, albeit at a much slower-than-expected rate. And even after months of growth, total employment has yet to return to pre-pandemic levels. The civilian labor force was still down by about 3.1 million individuals compared to February 2020 as of September.

LOL. Sleepy Joe still needs to add back 3.1M real jobs to catch Trump...of course, he will try to add some part time burger flipper jobs to inflate the numbers - maybe a good chance for JPW to increase his hour earnings.

Current score is Trump 430k vs. Biden 300k and gaining fast. How Biden can have such a disastrous death toll while having 3 vaccines on day 1 is a feat of incompetence that will never be matched.

Could it be that Trump's trade war left a supply chain disaster and Red State COVID issues are dragging down the economy?

Nah. Can't be it! Better blame Biden somehow! Don't need a reason, just a meme!

Idiot.

"Current score is Trump 430k vs. Biden 300k..."

Idiotic.

That's like blaming the abandoned spouse for the interest on his ex's credit card.

@#4 ... How Biden can have such a disastrous death toll while having 3 vaccines on day 1 is a feat of incompetence that will never be matched. ...

The incompetence is more with the Republican leadership that seems to prefer killing off its constituents rather than instituting COVID mitigation procedures. Care to explain why the Republican leadership is still doing that?

U.S. economy adds just 194,000 jobs in September
www.axios.com

...America registered disappointing job growth for the second month in a row.

By the numbers: Just 194,000 jobs were created in September, a significantly slower pace than the 366,000 number a month earlier. Economists had been hoping and expecting to reach at least 500,000 this time around.

- - The good news, such as it was, came with the unemployment rate, which dropped sharply to just 4.8%, from 5.2% in August. Unemployment for Black Americans dropped even faster, to 7.9% from 8.8%.

The big picture: Private-sector employment growth was OK, if not great, in September. The big disappointment came in the public sector, especially teachers. Women dominate the teaching profession, and they've been leaving the job market.

- - Local government school districts lost 144,000 jobs in September, with a further 17,000 job losses at the state level.

- - Those numbers are seasonally adjusted -- schools simply didn't add the number of teachers at the beginning of the academic year that they normally do.

- - Bars and restaurants saw essentially no growth in September, repeating their weak showing from August. They had been driving the recovery this year, with an average gain of 197,000 jobs per month from January through July....

Looks like the delta variant stifled the job growth in the bar and restaurant industry, combined with teachers who chose not to return to the classrooms.

Repubs are such morons.

They actually think a POTUS has a magic wand for the economy and that they actually have an accurate assessment of anything economics.

Tell us again how people aren't working because of government benefits. Duuuhhhhhhhh. Idiots.

maybe a good chance for JPW to increase his hour earnings.

Maybe some day you'll find happiness and won't have to be so obviously bitter that your betters live in your head.

Women Leaving U.S. Workforce Drive Participation Rate Drop
www.bloomberg.com

...The decline of the U.S. labor force participation rate last month was driven by women leaving the job market.

The percentage of female workers over 20 who were employed or looking for work dropped to the lowest since February, according to data from the Labor Department.

The reopening of schools was expected to alleviate the child-care burden, which mostly falls on women, and bring female workers back. The data suggest that wasn't the case....

So how many people retired early because of COVID? (I haven't seen the numbers) How many people extra people DIED from COVID in the last year and a half? How many people are still unable to work because of long haul COVID? How many people are scared to return to work because of COVID? How many people can't afford the new Daycare prices? How many people can't find Daycare? Honestly - how many undocumented haven't made it to US jobs? (You may not like it but it is reality) I know multiple people in all these categories.

Continuing raging Delta doesn't help but "the experts" thought that magically people were going to run back to jobs after extended benefits dried up and unemployment ran out in general. Sure SOME did come back.

There are open jobs EVERYWHERE around here and you just can't fill them. 24-hour stores are closing at 10 and 11 around here. Food service jobs - every single restaurant I can think of is looking for people. Some are closing Sunday/Monday or Monday/Tuesday and closing early. I don't know of a manufacturing company in town not looking for people either.

People are figuring out there is more to life.

Already matched and over-matched. By Trump; it was less than a year ago.

No, you haven't forgotten. You lie.

Then there's the Republican pro-Covid agenda, that's responsible for most of the 2021 deaths.

No, you haven't forgotten. You lie.

Fascism is made for people like you.

That is to say, liars.

"Biden economic disaster continues"

A year ago you people would have said it was China's.

Now you say it's Biden's.

Biden has created more jobs in his term than any other POTUS in history. Greatest POTUS evar!

Trump killed hundreds of thousands of Americans with the world's worst Covid response.
Biden killed hundreds of thousands of anti-vaxx idiots and the US is better for it. Biden is taking out the trash.

Once again Biden is the best POTUS evar!

Surprise labor shortage hits schools
www.axios.com

...School is back, but the workers " teachers, bus drivers and more " are not.

Why it matters: The education hiring slowdown (which helps explain Friday morning's weak jobs report) is partially a byproduct of the biggest hurdles to labor market recovery.

- - Education workers tend to be women, who have left the workforce in droves. They are also older, so they may be more concerned about contracting COVID-19.

By the numbers: Local government school districts lost 144,000 jobs last month and another 17,000 at the state level. Private education jobs fell by 19,000.
...

The unemployment rate went from 6.3% when Biden took over to 4.8% today.....not bad for 9 months.

What a disaster!
