"If we don't solve the Presidential Election Fraud of 2020 (which we have thoroughly and conclusively documented), Republicans will not be voting in '22 and '24," Trump said in a statement released Wednesday. "It is the single most important thing for Republicans to do."

"I'm telling you the single biggest issue, as bad as the border is . . . the single biggest issue, the issue that gets the most pull, the most respect, the biggest cheers is talking about the election fraud of the 2020 presidential election," Trump said during his Iowa rally.

The former president also compared his actions to Hillary Clinton in 2016, saying "Here's the difference. Hillary [Clinton] conceded. I never conceded. No reason to concede."

Definitely he is as he said, a "stable genius"!

Do you actually know any of them? If you do then you will agree, yes they are absolutely that stupid. Talking to them about anything is nearly impossible. To do so, you have to pretend to believe some of the stupit things they consider to be facts which are not even close to being true. Trump claims the election was stolen from so he refuses to concede. His statement sounds like he is acknowledging he stole the election from Clinton but she went ahead and conceded anyway.

The Feds need to investigate this possible admission. He should be questioned about this.

1) You and Trump currently think the elections are rigged.

2) They aren't.

3) But as long as you and Trump think that, and say that, then for Trumpites they are rigged

4) They'll stay home rather than vote.

This already played out in the Georgia Senate race. You know that, Trump knows that.

So, sure. Let every Republican voter not volunteering to die from COVID (and not vote) stay home (and not vote).

FOR FISHPAW:

I often look for deep, nasty intrapsychic reasons to explain this self-destructive, lemming-like behavior. But the ugly truth is that many of these people (Trumpites) are peasants in the medieval sense with a veneer of tech-savvy. They have a particular lifestyle, and it's always been one that hurt them and kept them down. Their classic remedy for personal failure has been to keep other people down so they won't have to feel so bad by comparison.

This is one reason Obama's election had the electrifying effect it did on them. It rubbed in their faces how little they really are if a Black man could do something like that.

Again, your comment has the tense wrong.

Fmr Pres Trump said, "If we don't solve the Presidential Election Fraud of 2020 (which we have thoroughly and conclusively documented), Republicans will not be voting in '22 and '24,"

Not if they think there is election fraud, but if there was fraud.

And the leader of Republicans stating that Republicans won't be voting, in my view, fmr Pres Trump telling Republicans not to vote. After all, fmr Pres Trump, if nothing else, expects unfettered fealty to his wishes and what he says. It is akin to a union leader telling the press that if the company does not come around to its demands, the union workers will go on strike.

All this aside, what proof do you think fmr Pres Trump has of any election fraud that may have occurred in the 2020 election, election fraud that was so bad that it will stop Republicans from voting?

I have a more simplistic spin on why Trump would make such a stupid statement. He's trying to lay the groundwork for investigations into losing both the House and the Senate in 2022 and the presidential election in 2024.

It's just a tripling down on what he's been saying about the 2020 election. He's telling Republican voters that they have a right to refuse to vote based on their belief that election fraud continues to be as pervasive in '22 and '24 as it was in '20 and it's their patriotic duty to refuse to participate in a fraud.

Therefore, all elections must be declared invalid and therefore, nobody actually loses. Especially him.

I'm not sure this kind of twisted logic would fly in court but that isn't the objective anyway. The real objective is the continued erosion of America's faith in democracy to the point that people are convinced that it no longer works.

After that, it's a short step to the blame game and eventually fascism.

The object wasn't to win. The object was to start planting tiny seeds of suspicion and doubt about democracy itself which is an intracule part of herding democracy into that proverbial bathtub to drown.

Absolutely. The point is to discredit elections. To de-legitimize the democratic process itself.

And to position Trump as the only person who can restore order to the corruption that has become endemic.

"And to position Trump as the only person who can restore order to the corruption that has become endemic."

That may be his hype but the truth is Trump will be long dead before the GOP completes their mission. Trump is just the current player on the chess board. The GOP is the real villain who is scamming the voters with their approval of the supporting actors in this slow motion transfer to fascism.

The GOP could stop it any time they wanted to . . . if they wanted to.

Actually, I think the GOP is tired of playing this game every four years. It's too iffy. They want total control, once and for all. There's only one way that's going to happen. They have to kill democracy.

This isn't something that just popped into their minds. It's been on the drawing board for a long time. I recall Dick Cheney promoting a Unitary Executive where all the power of the government belonged to the Executive Branch.

It took a deal with the devil (Russia) and promises of dark money in exchange for the GOP to help Russia's expansion plan to restore Russia to it's former glory as the U.S.S.R. (Mr. Putin is still waiting and subsequently withdrew his ready forces from Ukraine's border. Ukraine was his golden brick road to Eastern Europe). You'll recall that Trump tried and failed to deny (already approved by congress) U.S. funds to Ukraine. That was a major setback to Russia who was already operating on a lack of funds while their tanks sat idle on the border of Ukraine.

Trump failed in so many ways, only one of which was taking the U.S. out NATO. I'm surprised that Mr. Putin still has any faith in either Trump or the GOP. Maybe he doesn't. I don't know but I wouldn't blame him.

My point is, it's too late to change horses now. The GOP went in full throttle and now they're stuck with Mr. Cult of Personality that has them by the short hairs. The GOP and Mr. Putin are well aware that Trump is an unstable free wheeler with mental problems and, as such most of the time, he's a liability as well as an asset. They're just rolling the dice and crossing their fingers at this point. They have no other options.

As for Newt Gingrich, if I recall he was drummed out of office for his viewpoints. He was awarded a small office in some government office building somewhere so he could twiddle his thumbs and contemplate his navel ~ while trying to figure out his future in politics.

What he came up with was a plan to attach a chip to everything that moved ~ animal, vegetable or mineral ~ so that you couldn't buy a pair of boxer shorts in a department store without the government being able to track your every move.

So much for Mr. Gingrich.

After LBJ got the 1964 Civil Rignts Act through Congress, the votes of Southern white racists were up for grabs. The Nixon campaign obliged, and made a big point of enlisting political operatives from the South (Bill Timmons, etc.). By the time Reagan rolled around, the formerly Democratic racialists were now Republican racialists. What we see now is the ongoing Dixiefication of the party

In farcical comedies, one truth pops the entire balloon, and it usually begins with a huge misunderstanding.

In farcical tragedies, it's a purposeful misleading, whether it's masks, vaccines, WMD, or voting. But it's the same concept: one truth pops the entire balloon. And in this case, the (former) Emperor looks particularly awful in his underwear.
