Your ancestors losing a war they fought so that they could continue to keep humans as property is nothing to be proud of. I should know, my ancestors were on the losing side of that war as well.

Southerners should be quite thankful that President Lincoln and General Grant were so willing to give a break to members of the Confederacy, after Appomattox. Imagine if Sherman were Lincoln's #1 guy--he would have disemboweled Lee with his sword, then shot and roasted Traveler, and then forced the Rebs standing around to eat the carcass, before shooting the lot of them...

Funny how I cannot remember that last time a lynching hit the news, but I do remember the FBI investigated 'noose' at NASCAR... does that count???
