Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, October 14, 2021

Eagle River Republican Sen. Lora Reinbold, who's on Alaska Airlines' no-fly list after making a scene over masking (and therefore unable to attend the current special session in Juneau), has been a seemingly inexhaustible well of misinformation, vaccine conspiracy theories and fringe medical advice throughout the course of the pandemic. She's railed against the Legislature's efforts to limit the spread of covid-19 within its buildings, arguing that legislators and staff were in no place to be offering medical advice. In a Facebook post from Monday night, Reinbold posted a list of supplies to have on hand "before covid strikes." The list includes the sort of things anyone might use to combat the flu or cold like a thermometer, Vic's, cough medicine and fruit popsicles. It also suggests that people buy a vibrator. "Buy a vibrator to loosen chest congestion," she suggested. "Lay on right side to open airways. Avoid laying on your back."

"Update: Reinbold has announced she has contracted covid-19."

When an arrogant a*****e like pretends they know more than the scientists and doctors is is sort of justice.

Shrug, she's right.

1. - a pulse oximeter is a good thing to monitor when sick with something pulmonary related.
2. - Temperature checks are a good idea. That's why so many places are doing them each shift and when healthcare staff report to work.
3. - Face steamer - Yep, works to loosen head and chest congestion. I use a nebulizer with saline when I have a chest cold.
4. - They sell packets to make the correct saline mix for nebulizer use. They can be found in the pharmacy section for sinus irrigation.
5. - The "--------" she's referring too is a mechanical device used for chest physiotherapy. It helps break up chest secretions. Here's one on Amazon
www.amazon.com
6. - Use fever reducers. That's a no brainer.
7. - Have cough medicine. Another no brainer for when you have a pulmonary illness

#7, if you get covid and your MD prescribes it for you, it'd be a good idea to take it.

If my MD prescribed a quack cure based on fraudulent research, I'd find another MD.

#10, your ignorance never stops amazing me. Multiple studies have shown it's effective at reducing symptom severity and duration when used in the early stages.

Unfortunately it's been politicized and those who hope that it's not an effective treatment latch onto the one or two studies that indicate that indicate it's not effective. It's a text book example of Confirmation Bias and it's an unscientific view to hold.

"when used in the early stages."

By the time they get to the hospital, they are no longer in the early stages.

Just like by the time this woman was banned from Alaska Airlines, she was no longer in the early stages of being a fascist.

Yes, and that's why it, along with a long list of other potential medications, should be prescribed when symptoms first appear and the patient has not declined to the point of needing hospitalization.

It's FRAUD. You believe in a FRAUD. Wouldn't be the first time, now would it, sucker?

"Dr Kyle Sheldrick, one of the group investigating the studies, said they had not found "a single clinical trial" claiming to show that ivermectin prevented Covid deaths that did not contain "either obvious signs of fabrication or errors so critical they invalidate the study"."
