Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits dropped below 300,000 last week for the first time in 19 months, further evidence that a shortage of workers was behind slower job growth rather than weakening demand for labor. With the second straight weekly decline reported by the Labor Department on Thursday, initial claims are now in the zone that is generally associated with healthy labor market conditions. Initial claims for state unemployment benefits dropped 36,000 to a seasonally adjusted 293,000 for the week ended Oct. 9. That was lowest level since mid-March 2020, when the nation was in the early stage of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Maybe we should start loosening immigration numbers, there is clearly a worker shortage in the United States. It's time to start welcoming more hard working Latinos from south of the border.

Nice change of pace from when Trump was President and we were shattering the monthly job loss records.

FYI, let's look at the U-6 [you know - the real number]:

Yeah, let's look at it - for this entire year, 2021:

Jan 21 - 12% (Trump's last month)

Mar 21 - 10.9%

Jun 21 - 10.1%

Jul 21 - 9.6%

Aug 21 - 8.9%

Obama did a better job on jobs than Truptidumped. Actually he did better on everything than Trumptidumped.

Plus Trumptidumped is too fat to wear a beige suit... Obama rocked it.

Who knew the presidency could be so complicated?

There isn't a labor shortage. There's a living wage shortage.

And while more open borders are generally a great idea, we also need a MUCH higher minimum wage. At this point it should be at least $20/hour.
