Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, October 18, 2021

Throughout our lives, we have been taught that in order to live upto the societal expectations, we need to have a purpose-driven life. But on the contrary, in order to live a life of fulfilment, you actually don't need a purpose. That's what Sadhguru has explained in the video.

In fact, most of the horrors that we have seen and heard on this planet were mostly done by the people who had a purpose. Purpose restricts you to a limited reality and halts you from realising your true nature. Here, in this video, Sadhguru explains what's more important than having a purpose in life.

I had a porpoise once, but then one day it just thanked me for all the fish and left.

I know someone who's obsessed with this "guru" and actually went to see him in Tennessee about a year ago, despite it being in the middle of the pandemic. He's basically an entertainer.

I like that he's a motorcyclist at some rallies in India... and an influential figure in India promoting progressive social policy and good agricultural/climate change policies.

I also like his philosophical messages, even if I'm only someone who actually listens to some of them and doesn't merely "know someone" who saw him once, rofl!

Wait, what? I'm stupid?

Look, guys, ze-0 is is just a giant atomic powered robot built for hand-to-hand combat.

How is that wrong?

Being a paid Putin whore isn't a purpose, it's a lifestyle.

"he's ... and an influential figure in India promoting progressive social policy and good agricultural/climate change policies."

Sounds like he's far from purposeless.

"I also like his philosophical messages, even if I'm only someone who actually listens to some of them and doesn't merely "know someone" who saw him once, rofl!"

I've listened to a number of his messages. They're practically identical to ones I've heard from far more humble practitioners.

Given the huge number of people empty and hurting because they experience no meaning and purpose, I really doubt this.

"Purpose restricts you to a limited reality and halts you from realising your true nature"

You are what you do, so make damn well sure you do the right thing.

- far more humble

Like yourself, one supposes.

And advocation is not necessarily purpose. Perhaps you haven't understood what you heard.

He has a purpose. He doesn't have ---- all over him. That's a helluva beard.

A lifestyle is not a purpose.

The best way to live is take a stand but at the same time be ready to move in any direction.

True. Someone with a strong purpose will do things they might not really want to do to accomplish said purpose.

Someone who does what they do because that is who they are is not doing things for a purpose.

Ahhh....

So THAT explains why liberals are so motivated and driven to attack Trump and conservatives.

G'morning, Bill.

Trump and Republican behavior drive the Trump resentment and loathing.

It's kinda like why nobody in your life likes you.

Old,

I wasn't being literal where the implication is liberals are dumb and so explains their obsession with Trump.

Frankly I don't buy the purposeless idea anyway. There's a lot more to intelligence than that.

I am an acquired taste.

I would agree that often times the smartest people are those with wide-ranging interests and the courage to forego personal financial security in order to pursue them.

I think this thread was probably trying to be a dig at the book Purpose-Driven Life and concept that is very popular.

Popular with talentless hacks and morons maybe.
