DeSantis tweeted that "no one should lose their job over a COVID shot," but he seems less concerned with Floridians losing their lives over COVID.

...Ron DeSantis wants you to know how well he has done.

"We've had tremendous success," the Republican governor of Florida said recently at a vaccine site in Sumterville in the central part of the state when I caught up with him while reporting for this week's POLITICO Magazine Friday Cover, which we published early for Nightly readers....

His state had more deaths than any other during the Delta variant...

Meaningless statistic. Per capita death rates are measurable when comparing against other states.

DeathSantis wants to offer $5000 apiece to unvaccinated cops who'll relocate to Florida.

That's only twice as much as the Regeneron monoclonal antibody treatments he's been encouraging people to get instead of a free, super cheap COVID vaccines to prevent serious illness in the first place.

Health care worker on unvaccinated hospital patients:

"If you don't trust doctors and science to keep you from getting sick, why in the hell are you clogging up hospitals trusting them to cure you?!"

No thanks to Republicans. Unless you're now taking credit for what Mother Nature and Sane America does for you?

I haven't been to Florida in 15 years. I'm not taking credit or blame for anything related to covid except my own health.

Death Sentence wants to be Trump's #2 in the 2024 election. His plan involves getting re-elected next year, and having a job to fall back upon just in case. Meanwhile, his plan makes the assumption that this guy can hold onto his job in the next election. For a guy who didn't win his last election by much, Ronnie doesn't have much room for error. Too bad for him that Florida voters will remember his conduct in dealing with Covid...

"His plan involves getting re-elected next year,"

DeSantis is such a fence sitter and a Trump brown nose, Charlie Crist (Democrat convert in 2012 to present) and former Governor of Florida is going to do his best to upset that "plan."

I don't care what your party affiliation, if you want to stop the death toll in Florida it's going to take a Democrat governor to do it.

Too late can come sooner than you think. Don't be a Republican Party statistic. Don't be their next victim.

Ron DeSantis Planning $5K Bonus for Unvaccinated Police to Relocate to Florida

Here is per capita since the onset, with the low rates now, I suspect the New York rating will continue to drop as the red states continue to rise.
I was pleased my home state (blue with some bright red areas) is in the bottom 15.

You guys say this as if it lets DeathSentence off the hook.

When in reality, since it was known the virus would be particularly dangerous to his giant retirement home of a state he should have been even more cautious, no?

But he wasn't. Letting the rednecks go to Crapplebee's without their mask on was more important.

No, -------, he should let them do what they think is in their own best interest.

I get it, you're ------- terrified of COVID, or death, or whatever. Or view yourself as so important that your loss would seriously damage humanity.

But not all of us think that way. I would rather take some risk and live life rather than decrease risk and live in isolation. And I'm not in an at-risk category.

MY dad is though. I'm with him right now. And he doesn't want to spend his last years cowering in a bunker.

I know that's a concept you can't really understand-you're not wired that way-but it's a thing. It would be like telling skydivers or mountain climbers they're not allowed to do those things because it might kill them.

Would you really want someone deciding for you what was safe and what wasn't?

"No, -------, he should let them do what they think is in their own best interest."

DeSantis is calling a special session of the legislature to ban mask mandates.
And to make a law where employers with vaccine mandates face liability for any vaccine related injuries.

He's not letting Florida businesses do what they think is in their own best interest.

Do you see this as a government overreach?
