The House select committee investigating the US Capitol insurrection plans to subpoena John Eastman, a conservative lawyer who had worked with then-President Donald Trump's legal team and tried to convince then-Vice President Mike Pence that he could overturn the election results on January 6, a committee aide told CNN on Tuesday.

Well that seems pretty obvious, hopefully it will be followed by a referral for indictment to Justice for Conspiracy to Commit Sedition. Time to bring the hammer to the top of the food chain, send indictments for Rudy, Brooks, Gosar, Marjorie Traitor Greene, Boobert, Tuberville, etc. Any person who had even the smallest part in this attempted coup needs to be held accountable and fitted for an orange jumpsuit. If they are not punished as harshly as possible, they will try it again, and like Hitler succeed on their second attempt.

This legal beagle has seen his dubious reputation and employment situation torched this year, due in large part to his actions on Der Dotard's behalf. Who knows what he wanted out of his crackpot memo (Deputy Assistant Attorney General, Ambassador to San Marino, a ride on Melania) but he ended up with a professional life in tatters.

I'll wager this guy is so dumb that he will either dodge the subpoena when issued, or take the fifth during testimony, or actually lie under oath. Any of these could constitute actions worthy of permanent disbarment. And if he does testify, his days as an attorney could be done, and he then could be the target of freelance gunmen, acting under the belief that he somehow betrayed L'Orange Fascist. If Eastman is lucky, he may die of Covid before testifying...

He'll never testify. He'll ignore the subpeona, fight it in court, draw it out, and maybe get convicted right before trump takes office again and pardons him, and makes him the new attorney general.

Because dems will allow that all to happen.

Also, Lauren Windsor is doing gawd's work, the way she gets these MAGAt morons to admit on camera their deepest, darkest desires and plans is pure brilliance. It's about time the left started doing to the criminal Reich what they've been falsely ginning up against progressives for the past decade. This is much better than what O'Keefe's been doing, because he leans heavily on criminally deceptive editing and committing crimes such as trespassing and election interference in order to get his "dirt."

Stop planning and START DOING!

Tick tock MF'ers!

Actions not words.

A MONSON

Let's don't forget who the real target is in this investigation. Eastman is just one of the tools the DOJ will have in their arsenal when he is forced to testify, probably under threat of prosecution, when the DOJ starts to roll out the indictments to seal their bullet proof case against Trump.

We have to be patient and let the DOJ close all the loop holes that a slippery weasel like Trump can use to escape.

"How many Republicans on this House committee were appointed by minority leader aMcacarthy?"

None. There were five recommendations but Pelosi turned them all down in the interest of seeking the truth, absent the bombastic showboating by McCarthy's obvious intention to derail the investigation.

#7 The GOP had their chance to add their input and join the bipartisan committee but instead chose to appoint trumpterd lunatics to the committee and demand that BLM be investigated as well to derail the investigation. Qevin tried to burn the investigation down and got slapped out of it.

What happend to the GQP's investigation? It went nowhere. Because they know there are members of the GQP House and Senate that conspired with the terrorists that attacked the capitol on 1/6. Qevin was never interested in finding the truth, only sweeping it under the rug.

Twinpac, Nancy turned down 2 of the the 5 Qevin wanted. Gym Jordan and Jim Banks. Qevin, like the child he is, pulled all of his appointees and pouted and told her he wasn't going to participate. Qevin knew appointing those two would cause this and is what he wanted because he has no interest in exposing the truth. He knows the GQP was in on it.

Look at what has been turning up so far. Mo Brooks has thrown his staff under the bus faster than I thought was possible in a vain attempt to cover his ass.

The more the committee digs, the more GQP members they will find involved in the planning of 1/6.

NIXON

I wouldn't mind seeing all of those names charged with Sedition and handed over to a Grand Jury for indictment before the mid-terms.

McQuarthy had his opportunity. The Dems gave him EVERYTHING he asked for in the original commission, equal numbers, veto power over subpoenas, etc. Kevin was shocked the Dems would do that, but because his orange master is afraid of what will come from the investigation, Kevin whipped against it. The fact that Kevin still wanted to appoint unserious morons intent on subverting the investigation, and who are likely fact witnesses and possibly even targets of the commission was more than Speaker Pelosi could handle, so she took the only action she could and rejected Kevin's slate of stupid. Kevin had the opportunity to take this seriously, he failed, as he has with everything in his political career, so screw him. I would not be surprised that if the GQP retakes the house Kevin doesn't even get to be Speaker, as many in his party kooks and nuts want Combover Caligula in that role. The fact is that the two GOPers on the committee are serious people who are working toward holding accountable those who committed crimes and working toward understanding what happened, not investigating some fictional BS BLM and Antifa claims, or this recent lunacy regarding FBI plants and false flags. Your side went off the deep end four years ago, you're now being sucked down the drain and out to sea. Here's hoping you don't end up polluting the ocean with your toxic filth.

"Mr. Minority leader. You can pick whomever you want just so long as I approve. I however can pick whomever I want and you have no say."

That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works.

"That's not how this works."

That potential witnesses are excluded from the judgement pool?! IN WHAT BIZZARO WORLD?

Why did Qevin withdraw the three he'd nominated, and Pelosi had accepted?

#15 | Posted by Danforth at 2021-10-28 03:06 PM | Reply

Because dems will allow that all to happen.

Regarding Eastman (and Bannon) - what can the DOJ do other than wait if this goes to the courts.

We know the system moves slow (to their benefit).....is there something they could do to circumvent?

She has no evidence that either of those two had any involvement with the riot and she knows damn well they had nothing to do with the riot.

Some in congress were involved in planning the protest (Dems do that all of the time).

" Obviously he made the choice that it would be all or nothing."

Your first five words are all that's needed. McQarthy's choice.

Why wouldn't Nancy know what Liz knows?

Easy question.

You've seen the Eastman memo.

You've read the article in National Review.

You've seen the video of Eastman talking about 1/6.

What say you: part of trying to overthrow the election, or not part of trying to overthrow the election?
