Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, October 27, 2021

During the past two months, however, Florida's daily average has plummeted by more than 90 percent, to about 1,700 cases, or eight for every 100,000 residents. That's roughly half of California's current COVID rate and less than a quarter of Vermont's. Hawaii (with nine cases for every 100,000 residents) is the only other state in single digits.

What will be the latest Democrat talking point to stoke fear of DeSantis? The sad thing is that we are entering the winter months in the north so the Biden-covid variants are likely to make a comeback in the North/Northeast in the coming months.

You're living in "opposite land" comrade.
The real numbers in the hospitals and morgues there tell an opposite story.

Your boy DeathSatin is lying his slimy ass off, and you're gullible enough to believe it.

Yes, I suspected Liberals to do a full on 360 degree head rotation like in the Exorcist when this news came out. Just face the facts, everything you claim to know for certain about covid has been proven to be wrong.

#2 | Posted by Skeptical at 2021-10-27 08:47 PM | Reply

But is that true? Did DeSantis "do" anything to improve Florida's COVID numbers? And does the state's 180-degree turn somehow prove that more cautious policies "provide no benefits"?

The answer is no.

"...when this news came out."

Well, maybe it's because prior "news" from Florida included a record spike in "flu deaths" during a year where the country was almost devoid of flu.

Get caught lying once, and you're suspect forever.

He has the best results in the nation and the worst population from a risk perspective given the average age. Sorry, your ideas about fighting covid have been turned on their head.

Under DeSchitstain Florida blew past New York in COVID fatalities.

Median age in NY is 36.7 vs. 42 for FL. Even you have to be smart enough to understand how that impacts covid deaths.

So the real problem is age, not COVID? And of course vaccinations, not De Santis?

You fascists are and remain disgusting.

We've had a year of fascism attempting to make death and disease serve its political agenda.

Did anyone see the Trumpite state that Trump had to fast-track the vaccines in order to save lives and then the very next breath state it was going to kill everyone who used them?

Wonder if high temps in the 80's and lows in the 70' around November might have some effect on how a virus spreads in Florida

When you hide the data, anything looks good.

DeathSentence knows this.

He also knows the fools will believe his lies.

LOLOLOLOLOL! LMAO!! OH my GOD this is so ------- stupid!

That's what happens when you kill off all those at greatest risk and refused to get vaccinated. Let's look at the numbers:

58,933 dead in Florida, a population of 21,500,000. That's 274 dead per 100,000 Floridians.
California? Hit hardest and early before vaccinations and therapeutics?
71,800 deaths out of a population of 39,510,000. That's 181 dead per 100,000 Californians.

DeSantis has killed off 1 .5 times more people than died in CA from COVID in less time, despite having vaccinations and therapeutics, and way more information on what works.

Heck of a job Governor DeathSentence. Way to cheerlead a disaster, Skeptical!

BTW - As JPW stated yesterday on another thread, Florida's now 7th highest rate of COVID cases in the United States behind...
North Dakota
Tennessee
Alaska
Wyoming
South Carolina
South Dakota.
then
Florida.

All red states. Heck of a job, Republicans.

And the Florida test positivity rate is still 50% higher than California.

Maybe you should check Desantis on those numbers again. Maybe they are doing it the Texas way: private institution tests don't count for official numbers.

Testing numbers show the number of test results for Texas residents reported to DSHS by public health and private labs. They do not include pending tests. Additional testing may be occurring by labs not yet reporting all results to DSHS. dshs.texas.gov

Are you suggesting a difference between "institution" and "lab"? If so, please explain.

Even if, it seems "entity" is broad enough to encompass either.

Effective 3-24-2020: Every public or private entity that is utilizing an FDA-approved test, including an emergency use authorization test, for human diagnostic purposes of COVID-19, shall submit to DSHS, as well as to the local health department, daily reports of all test results, both positive and negative. DSHS shall promptly share this information with the CDC. gov.texas.gov

Floriduh has been caught bullshhtting so much, I don't believe any news about that state.

It's an example of what Trump wanted to turn America into.

We can't believe the numbers coming from Florida. Even the South Florida Sun says it is not likely.

Gosh. Who to believe? A newspaper based in Florida with reporters and an entire fact checking research Dept?

Or some Ding Dong on the Dr? One who never checks his facts?

Florida has serious problems with the truth.

Just like you Trumptilian Ding Dongs.

Are Floridians getting an accurate picture of who is dying from COVID-19 and when?
Not likely.
