Many families need both parents to work to have enough money to live. When childcare prices increase, these families suffer.

You want to explain why we don't have enough low income workers to fill demand?

This would be a good reason why.

Why would someone take a $12 an hour job so they can bring home $5,000 a year after taxes and child care?

If they are making 12 an hour and have kids it's probably more like 8k a year after taxes and daycare. However even your 5k number is probably generous can't put the kids in daycare sick so subtract some hours, your POS car doesn't start in the morning subtract some hours, your POS car won't start after work subtract fines from daycare for late pickup.

Daycare is the single biggest economic crisis at this moment.

Because it mostly involves women, it gets back-burnered.

Intact families and GOOD jobs would do much to relieve this. Employers should pay more so mother's can stay home when needed.

A less consumerist culture would help too. Does anyone really "need" a $1000 phone?

Half the ---- people buy is overpriced fripperies. $6 lattes, expensive restaurant meals, etc. Our culture itself is sick.

Subsidizing poor decisions might boost the economy but it's bad public policy.

"Intact families and GOOD jobs would do much to relieve this."

How many GOOD jobs can there really be, for the majority of Americans who don't have a college education?

We need more manufacturing in the US. China makes all our ----. Service jobs are never going to cut it. Globalization has destroyed widespread prosperity in this country. A minimum wage of $18 an hour would help too. Index the minimum wage to inflation and tax capital gains like earned income. Enforce tax laws on The books. Make wealthy tax cheats pay up.

Universal health care would make life easier for most poor families.

This is common sense ----. Oligarchs want timid and fearful serfs. Universal health care would remove the tie of health care to employment which would give bosses less leverage over the workers, hence their resistance to it.

Overall our public policy is designed to squeeze Less than prosperous people so the more wealthy can exploit them more easily.

It's sick and no accident.

"We need more manufacturing in the US."

The Invisible Hand doesn't seem to share your opinion.
It wants low labor cost for low tech manufacturing, and it finds it outside the US.

But I agree that incentivizing (subsidizing) manufacturing in US would be a prudent move.

True.

"Since 1975, practically all the gains in household income have gone to the top 20% of households."

How about the low income earner who need to quit their jobs to stay home with the kids babysit other kids as well. For money.

As usual, I solved that problem.

#11 If everyone who doesn't earn enough to afford $1500/month for daycare stays home to become a babysitter, the labor supply will outweigh demand and there won't be any money in that gig. So you've solved nothing. Another economically illiterate libertarian - who could've guessed?

Besides, you shouldn't have to be relegated to babysitting just because your wages don't outpace childcare and housing costs. Even people making 50-60k in respectable careers would have a hard time finding an extra $1500/month, and that's if they only have one child. Why don't you believe in the dignity of a day's work?

Biden should allow these kids to enlist. They can get benefits and 'work' from home, while being more useful to society than the rest of the MIC.
Biden has 750Billion a year to spread the current MIC socialist welfare from fat cats to people that need it.
