It was many a roadie's worst nightmare: On Oct. 17, 53-year-old Francis Stueber died in his hotel room, nearly 2,300 miles from home, according to Kiss and his fellow backstage crew.

So, a pro-KISS press release?

I see right through this. The power of Christ compels you, KISS!

Gene Simmons is a feral Trumper.

But I want to give credit where credit is due:

Simmons, though a right wing Republican, has taken COVID seriously and mocked anti-vaxxers.

But as we now know, even a vaccination isn't a guarantee of staying COVID-free.

IMO, bands should continue to stay off of the road. There are simply too many morons who won't get vaxxed and won't wear a mask, even though either will save their lives and the lives of strangers and those they love.

You mean those busybodies in the 1970s that said that being a fan of kiss would lead to death and destruction were right???

If Paul Stanley wants to support this employee's family, he has the money to do so himself. In fact, the family should sue the band for the lax protocols

Sounds like he wasn't vaccinated. I'm not really gonna say his vaccination status was KISS's fault.

Though it's still entirely possible that KISS created a culture of recklessness with regard to COVID safety. And if so, that is KISS's fault.

"while the band reveals that workers concealed sickness and even faked vaccine cards in some cases."

Sure sounds like they weren't going to give their employees paid sick leave if they got COVID.

Yeah. The article seems to be avoiding stating whether or not he was actually vaccinated.

If he did die of COVID after being vaccinated, he unfortunately drew a very rare, but very unlucky straw.

The Colin Powell Award.

Not Francis Steuber. He was just a band tech.

"Forever?"

Pretty sure he means until the pandemic is over. Globally, that's a few years away. But for the modern world it's probably another year or so.

"But for the modern world it's probably another year or so."

Actually, far less.

In Germany, the National Emergency ends on 25 November, after which the federal government no longer has the authority to tell the "states: (Bundesland) what restrictions they have to adhere to. The new "stop-light" government led by the SPD is expecting to remove all COVID restrictions, including the wear of masks, in April of 2022.

And that's being planned as COVID cases continue to skyrocket in Germany. October 29th had the third highest number of new cases since the pandemic started (although deaths remain very low).
