Igor Danchenko, a Russian analyst who was a source for the 2016 dossier of allegations about former President Donald Trump, was arrested and indicted Thursday for allegedly lying to the FBI, as part of Special Counsel John Durham's investigation into the origins of the FBI's Russia investigation.

Yes - justice delayed is justice denied. The Dems used this Russia nonsense against Trump in the midterms and to tie his hands as president - and they knew it was a lie all along. But, with low IQ dem voters and MSM like CNN and MSNBC willing to repeat any lie fed to them by the DNC - the lies lived on. Even today there are a few low IQ voters on this board that still repeat the Trump/Putin nonsense.

This case was so obvious, it should have been wrapped up in a couple of months tops. The FBI literally had Danchenko in a confirmed lie in 2017 and did nothing about that fact or use that fact to immediately shutdown the Russiagate nonsense.

Finally, Durham looks like he is pulling his out of his arse and will start working up the food chain. How far up? I guess we will find out but the next stop will be someone tied to the Clinton campaign - that much is obvious.

So far it's been the furthest thing from BENGHAZI!!

The investigation has been slow and deliberate. Virtually no leaks and almost zero political theater. Let it play out.

"The investigation has been slow and deliberate.
#3 | POSTED BY BELLRINGER"

It has taken too long to play out. I think the damage that was allowed to be done to Trump's presidency is a travesty. Remember the midterms where I would bet 80% or more of the Dem base was claiming Trump was a Russian asset? All of this was done when the FBI already had in their hands proof that the whole thing was a fraud.

Never again can we allow our government to be hijacked like that - given that the opposition leaders knew everything was fake, I see this as no different than a coup attempt. Unfortunately, it partially succeeded with the Dem midterm gains. As a result, we got 2 fake impeachments and Trump with his hands tied rather than governing the country.

The millennials invented 'swatting' as a means to cause fake emergencies. How is this any different? These were not run of the mill political allegations - like Romney is cruel to his dog or Bush was an alcoholic cokehead which focus on the character of the opponent. This was trying to bring down criminal charges by lying to the FBI with the intended goal to handicap Trump - this action was 1000x more impactful on the nation than the Jan 6 riots.

#5 | Posted by Skeptical at 2021-11-04 09:50 PM | Reply

Agreed on point one, semi-agree on point two, disagree with point three - political theater. That's all this report is. Reading the FBI "lying" indictment (the original one), all Durham did was make a minor point of the charge (questionable and I'd bet will lead to a dismissal), and then go on and on and on about Democrats. This one is even worse. It's nothing but political theater. It's irrelevant whether these additional charges will result in any conviction. The GOP has, in all the name checking, innuendo, dubiously made associations, a document that they wanted. A document they are going to use.

#6 | Posted by YAV at 2021-11-04 09:58 PM | Reply

Just a process crime. Lying to the FBI is free speech now. Pardon him.

No political theater?

It was quite theatrical in the run up to the election when righties thought it was going to actually yield something and Barr kept dropping what he hoped was provocative hints.

It only went non-theatrical when the election passed, it lost it's oomph and it became clear the promises of Brennan, Comey ect being frog walked were BS.

I see this as no different than a coup attempt.

Of course you do.

You're a ------ projecting your unpatriotic, traitorous -------- onto everyone else.

There was plenty of evidence of communication and cooperation between elements of Trump's campaign and Russian intelligence services.

Multiple reports were issued laying it out.

They have a document from Durham, finally, but it is relatively useless. This will come back on the Hillary wing of the DNC and they have been largely outed from positions of power already. While the hoax was meant to help Hillary - and her team will be the one punished for it - the people that benefit most from the document are the Dems leadership that 100% knew it was fake and lied to the American people - however, they likely had no part in the creation of the hoax - they just perpetuated the lie. So, no criminal charges will come for the Pelosi or Schiffs of the world. This is why justice delayed is justice denied and no one should be happy about this situation.

That is why the FBI needed to get off their arses and shut down this nonsense immediately - not wait 4+ years - and they need to come down HARD on the people that invented the hoax so this never happens again. There really is not much that can be done the main beneficiaries of the hoax as I said above. This is especially true when their voters have proven time and again that they don't care if the Dem leadership lies to them.

No political theater?

For the most part, yes. Minimal theater and almost zero from the investigators themselves.

It's gone on longer than the Mueller investigation. How many "walls are closing in" stories have we been subjected to? This has been conducted very quietly. Which is the way it should be handled.

None of which was shown to be unlawful, in spite of tremendous efforts to try and prove otherwise.

I despise Trump. I didn't vote for him and I'm glad he's gone. That doesn't mean I will tolerate lies and quite probably felonious behavior trying to take him down. The IG report exposed serious and astonishing abuses by the most powerful institutions in this country to usurp power from a duly elected president.

The most quoted piece of 'evidence' to support this nonsense claim is that Manafort gave polling data to Konstantin Kilimnik. This is debunked by 1.) the data delivered was publicly available and 2.) Kilimnik is not actually part of any Russian intelligence service.

More proof.

FFS, Jeff Sessions had to have three swings at "the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth" regarding meetings with the Russians. Meanwhile, Team Trump had over 100 contacts with Russians, while telling Americans they had NO contacts with Russians.

Evidence of lies, in spades.

No fishpoo he means like Trump's campaign manager Paul Manafort who pleaded guilty in 2018 to conspiracy against the US and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice due to attempts to tamper with witnesses ...

And all the other Russian spies and contacts in the trump campaign.

Trump and associates had over 100 contacts with Russians before taking office

If you make contact with Russian spies while campaigning for the presidency you should expect a call from the FBI.

Seems to be Trump causes his own issues, first by his actions (on both impeachments) and well, second by his actions (on the Mueller probe) by firing his CIA director during an FBI investigation and looking guilty.

BTW, Trump is on his on his way to his own 4 year tour with continued election fraud stories. However, one important note is Republicans are stacking state legislators with Trump sympathizers, which when it comes to certification will get very ugly.

Social media lies feeding confirmation bias to a fever pitch is radicalizing many to believe in utter nonsense and doubt obvious truths.

Add in contrarianism and Dunning Kruger and you have smart people believing in flat earth, anti-vaxx, anti-mask, rigged election etc.

At this point, I think waves of deadly pandemics might be the only solution. Those would solve climate change as well.
