Stephen Hayes and Jonah Goldberg, two longtime conservative commentators on Fox News, said that they are quitting the network, concluding that "the voices of the responsible are being drowned out by the irresponsible."

"They specifically cited Tucker Carlson's three-part documentary Patriot Purge, which ran on Fox Nation, which they said was "a collection of incoherent conspiracy-mongering, riddled with factual inaccuracies, half-truths, deceptive imagery, and damning omissions.

And its message is clear: The U.S. government is targeting patriotic Americans in the same manner "and with the same tools"that it used to target al Qaeda."

The series advanced a series of conspiracy theories about the January 6 siege on the Capitol, including that it was a "false flag" operation, that the "left is hunting the right," and that there is a domestic war on terror orchestrated by the deep state.

Hayes and Goldberg wrote that such claims were "dangerous," and that Carlson's series was only one in a series of instances of misinformation being advanced by the opinion side of Fox News.

A Fox News spokesperson did not immediately return a request for comment. But Carlson told The New York Times Ben Smith, who first reported the departures, that it was "great news" and "our viewers will be grateful."

It's sort of a pot/kettle, pus/wound kind of thing.

Just when you thought there couldn't be worse people than Jonah and Stephen, Tucker trumps them.

Tucker trumps them.

He's got Sieg Kiel on tomorrow night... that should be a ratings blockbuster for the FOXheads.

Yeah, the kid was spotted in a restaurant near Sarasota where they were filming. I suspect he's prolly patented the after verdict finger-pistol pose in the pic after the verdict.

He also release a statement saying that he supports BLM... which isn't going to make his Proud Boy buds happy.

If I were in his position I would STFU and never be seen or heard from again.

This is like someone quitting working at a whorehouse because they just found out there is prostitution happening there.

These guys knew they were working for the propaganda machine when they took the jobs.

The evening commentators have always been ~special~ on Fox News.

However, the actual news part (i.e., the afternoon news segments) were good to very good. I used to watch those news segments and was surprised at the quality of the reporting.

Then fmr Pres Trump sent fmr AG Barr to visit with Fox News management (late summer 2019?). Within a few weeks I noticed a change in the afternoon news segments, they were becoming different from the news-orientation they had possessed previously.

I continued to watch for a couple more months, but eventually punted because it just was not worth it.

Jonah Goldberg is a pretty thoughtful guy as he demonstrates in his writing and on NPR. Fax News cannot tolerate conservative thought that doesn't parrot the lies of The Previous Guy ...

#9. Before he became an anti Trump guy he was persona non grata on the left.

Regardless, I do agree with your assessment of him.
