Just finished watching the first episode. It picked up steam before the halfway mark; so incredible watching the birth of some iconic songs, often out of pretty thin air.

Then seeing George quit the band while the cameras were rolling for the documentary. Good stuff.

The biggest take away(s) from Get Back is you need to get your ass in the chair and keep it there.

Trust the process and do the process.

Question assumptions.

Focus on the work.

Push yourself and don't forget: you're just making it all up!

So try, and, most importantly, have fun!

I'll be checking out the Brian Wilson doc as soon as I can. I spent a lot of time trying to reconstruct Smile. The he did it and it was amazing.

Watched part one last night.

My god it's amazing to watch them create these legendary songs.

Also. Completely agree with Lee's #3. Very funny and accurate analysis.

George was in a no-win situation trying to compete for album space with one of the best song-writing teams ever. Glad he ended up staying, but it would have been interesting to see them with Clapton.

Here he is with Paul in a tribute to Harrison, doing his song...

And then there were two. McCartney getting misty-eyed.

Secret flowerpot mic. You were right a lot and you were wrong a lot.

Incredible what they did with 4 and 8 track tape recorders... lot of music today is Auto-Tune dependent.

Seeing Alan Parsons briefly in the background? Priceless.

Seeing John and Paul having a great time together playing Hank Williams, the Everly Bros, and a lot of other greats, also priceless.

I'd never thought about it before, but now I wonder if George was influenced to return when Billy Preston suddenly showed up? But then, Paul acted like George was coming back the whole time.
