Monday, November 29, 2021

Twitter announcement: Jack Dorsey has decided to step down as Chief Executive Officer and that the Board of Directors has unanimously appointed Parag Agrawal as CEO and a member of the Board, effective immediately. Dorsey will remain a member of the Board until his term expires at the 2022 meeting of stockholders. Bret Taylor was named the new Chairman of the Board, succeeding Patrick Pichette who will remain on the Board and continue to serve as chair of the Audit Committee. Agrawal has been with Twitter for more than a decade and has served as Chief Technology Officer since 2017. "I've decided to leave Twitter because I believe the company is ready to move on from its founders. My trust in Parag as Twitter's CEO is deep. His work over the past 10 years has been transformational. I'm deeply grateful for his skill, heart, and soul. It's his time to lead," said Dorsey.

Twitter Missed Out on Tech Peers' Rally During Dorsey Era
finance.yahoo.com

... Jack Dorsey's era running Twitter Inc. spanned one of the biggest rallies for U.S. technology stocks. Twitter missed out on most of it.

A 75% gain for the social-media platform during Dorsey's tenure as chief executive officer lags far behind the more than 280% rally for the Nasdaq 100 and the almost 140% gain in the S&P 500 as of Friday's close.

During Dorsey's six-year tenure, other megatech stocks have posted triple-digit gains: Apple Inc. has surged over 450% and Amazon.com Inc. rallied more than 580%, while Alphabet Inc. climbed about 345% and Microsoft Corp. skyrocketed about 640%....

There is a concern a bunch of -------------- are buying shares in a hostile takeover.

Dorsey had one good idea - 140 characters who'd a thought the constraining of speech would lead to its growth.

Looking forward to the new CEO making changes to the platform that Jack was unwilling to implement.

Maybe the new guy will enforce their terms of service equally for all people.

I would head for the hills too. It's about to get very difficult for Twitter and other social media platforms as they get used and dragged into the political maelstrom.

And I imagine that he has gotten quite a few death threats from the maggats since Twitter banned their Dear Dotard Leader from spewing his hateful garbage on Twitter.

Dorsey steps down without ever stepping up.

Unlikely, just one day after former CTO Parag Agrawal was named CEO, Twitter bans sharing images or videos of private individuals without their consent. These rules will not be enforced to "ensure privacy" or "safety," but only to punish the right people as needed.
