apparently he didn't find it necessary to lock up his gun.

It's OK though...because NOTHING WILL CHANGE IN THIS COUNTRY.

The father should be charged with these murders.
If you leave a gun accessible to others and it gets used in a crime then you should be held just as responsible for that crime as the person who carried out the act.

One of the students prolly reached for the gun, obviously meaning to use it on him, so killing people was the only way he could protect the gun.

That should werk in court.

I'm starting to think these responsible gun owners might actually not be very responsible.

let's see...142 million gun owners 400 million guns... Nope. On the main, responsible. All the gun owners I know have gun safes.

It's the American public that's growing increasingly irresponsible over the years, to the point that they shouldn't be allowed to have them anymore.

I also meant to point out the 33% of of the population who continue to support trump and his swamp of lies, as one example.

I'm sure this has been a real bonding moment for him and his son.

It's so disturbing to watch videos of this kid from a few years ago. (They're all over Twitter.) He was apparently a smart honors student, awkward and nerdy as all get-out, and bullied for that. But at the same time, he had friends, and he might have grown up fine had his father not handed him a new gun four days ago.

It's sad. I think the absolute worst of possible ----------- should come down on his head for this horrendous act. I was a fidgety, awkward nerd at his age too, and I never killed anybody, despite hating some of my classmates and growing up in a household where guns were always present. Maybe I was helped by the fact that I had a clear understanding of right and wrong. So I can't imagine a justifiably merciful outcome for him. Still, I am sad that someone can be so damaged that bullying (if that was, in fact, the precipitating factor) led him to think random mass murder was some kind of reasonable response.

Shooter must not be white or he'd be described as a white supremicist Trump supporter.

A spelling error in an anonymous blog post on the internet? Doesn't take much to give you the vapers.

Actually, that better describes the shooter's mother, being that she's a big supporter of Trump, willing to forgive even his comments about grabbing women by their (private parts) which she said was just "man talk". She thanked Trump for protecting her 2nd Amendment rights, and complained that the schools were full of children of immigrants. Gee, I wonder how an impressionable young boy would react after hearing crap like that for the last few years? And then suddenly he finds himself in possession of a shiny new gun.

Lots of people write letters to politicians. I've written to both Clintons, Obama and Biden many times. I've been visited by the Secret Service and FBI and can't fly commercially anymore, but still lots of people.

How about we just pass a law where anyone can sue you for $10,000 (per person) if a gun that you ever had ownership of is used in the murder of a person? The Supreme Court seems to have no problem with it.

It appears that the mother might be the most liable. The Oakland County prosecutor has reported that they have social media posts where, over the weekend, the mother bragged about 'practicing' with her son and his new 'gift'. Also, on Monday, the day before the shooting a teacher found the 15-year old using his cellphone in class searching the internet for where he could buy ammo. The teacher reported this to the school administration who left a voice mail for the parents telling them what had occurred. Later that day the mother texted her son telling him that she supports him but that he needs to be more careful and not get caught. On the morning of the shooting, the parents and their son, were called to a meeting with school administrators where this and other issues were discussed and the parents were advised that their son needed immediate counseling, but they refused to consider it, and they also refused to take their son home with them. It's very likely that their son had the gun with him, in his backpack, during this meeting. Later, when the first news of the shooting came out, the mother texted her son telling him to "not do this".

It's now being reported that the police cannot find the parents and that an all-points-bulletin has been issued.

Now there's a report that the parent's attorney had advised them to leave town but he says that they will return if and when they are formally charged. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
