...Driving the news: "Like, let's just go through the list of things. The wall isn't built. Obamacare is still there. We didn't get an infrastructure package done that we wanted, so now we're stuck with theirs," Christie told Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell's former chief of staff Josh Holmes.

What he's saying: Christie also criticized the former president's management style, saying that Trump's aides "were given less and less freedom to do what needed to be done on behalf of the president and the country."

  • "And that's a problem. That management style is a problem. I have no problem in the main with the policies that were followed by the Trump administration, that they attempted to implement. I really think they were very, very solid."

  • "That's not the point. The point is you've got to be able to get it done," Christie said.

Sure he did. He single-handedly killed a half million Americans.

C'mon Chrisco it accomplished a lot:

It spent millions on a wall that got toppled by wind.

It spent millions at Mango ------- on rooms and golf carts for secret service.

It spent millions in jet fuel flying ------- to FL to play golf every weekend.

It abandoned the Kurds and let Ergodan wipe them out.

It surrendered Ukraine to Russia.

It created massive deficits to pad the bloated checking accounts of billionaires.

It got thousand of Chinese patents for princess sparkle pony.

It turned a blind eye to MBS murdering an American journalist by dismemberment.

It had countless photo ops moving the Israeli embassy, throwing paper towels in Puerto Rico, changing the course of a hurricane with a sharpie..etc....

It drove up the cost of everything through his failed China trade war.

It allowed COVID 19 to spread uncontrolled in the US.

It fomented an attack on the US Capitol in an attempt to stay in power.

It attempted to blackmail an ally for campaign dirt on Joe Biden.

It told California to rake the forests to stop wildfires even though they are federally owned.

It made it easier for businesses to poison Americans.

...it's still killing GOP voters at a rate of 3 to 1.

Candidate Trump on golf:

February 4, 2016
I love golf... but if I were in the White House ... I'd just want to stay in the White House and work my ass off.

March 14, 2016
If you're here at the White House, and you have so much work to do, why do you fly? Why do you leave so much?

August 6, 2016
I'm going to be working for you, I'm not going to have time to be playing golf.

August 25, 2016
I won't be playing golf.

When you spend your time howling and growling, spitting at the paintings and pissing all over the carpets, it's hard to get much in the way of positive progress actually done.

#5 | Posted by Doc_Sarvis at 2021-12-02 07:17 AM | Reply

Christie is correct. Most of what Trump did manage to accomplish was through Executive actions which were undone by his successor. Legislative accomplishments were a flawed, at best, tax law and the First Step Act. That's it.

I'd have to disagree with Christie if you intend on including the SCOTUS in what he got done.

#7 | Posted by eberly at 2021-12-02 02:59 PM | Reply

including the SCOTUS in what he got done.

I'd argue McConnell gave us Gorsuch and Barrett.

Trump gave us Kavanaugh.

#6 He also managed to put the entire nation at each others' throats and put American democracy as we know it into serious jeopardy, which for enemies of America was probably mission accomplished.

Let's not forget Trump's big, bad border wall! Which China paid for.

Biden doesn't.

Even Trump's enemies enjoyed the repercussions of an optimistic economy.

And they hated him for it.

Just,

Learn a little about how the economy functions.

It's not all just numbers.

The public's perception and hope for the future matters.

Trump inspired hope.

Biden inspires doom.

Perception is not reality, and Trump never inspired hope. Get a tissue, you're drooling all over the keyboard.

"Trump inspired hope."

For some people but not for many others. If Trump inspired hope across the board, he wouldn't have lost the popular vote to Biden by 7 million votes.

Trump gave the country hope

He gave 600,000+ dead Americans hope that Covid-19 was nothing more than a Democratic Hoax.

Trump gave the country white supremacists hope and optimism.

If you were white and angry your life sucked.

Trump gave you hope that it was the immigrants who were to blame.

Gal,

"For some people but not for many others."

Yes...that is a problem with capitalism and why social programs should exist.

The problem is the people who are capable of participating in the capitalist system but prefer to do drugs and generally waste their life and then blame everyone else.

I have no sympathy for those people.

Those people make up an insignificant amount of the over all population. Why people, like you, are so intrigued by such a small group of folks is fascinating to me. Is it an issue of principal? Because it's certainly not an issue of any significance.

-Trump inspired hope.

At first, yes he did. He successfully branded himself as an outsider

But ... ... .that faded quickly for many.

But he still has a devoted following. Crazy? Yes.

1) I've had the best year of my life economically under Biden. If lived in Mississippi, I'd be in the 1%. But what sane man lives in Mississippi?

2) But, faced with being poor but free or being ruled by the fascist lout Trump I know what I would choose.
