They were just going to leave their kid alone in jail.

Mom at least is a Trump supporter.

Total effing trash. Lowest of the low. To abandon your kid and run is about the sleaziest thing I've heard of. They are why this happened. They should go away for years. They knew it too.

That's why they ran.

500,000 for each. The judge didn't bat an eye at the request from the prosecutions.

It was reported that their lawyer said they were on their way to turn themselves in to law enforcement.

Apparently that is why they were hiding in a commercial building, evading law enforcement.

While there's no doubt these two are terrible parents I'm not sure they were running away.
Were they even arrested or summoned before the arraignment? It seemed to happen rather fast...they didn't even convene a grand jury which is often the case for felonies.

Their kid is going to spill the beans on a whole lot of nasty things.

How much you wanna bet the mommy wanted her little angel to grow up to be a hero like Kyle Rittenhouse?

#7 | Posted by snoofy at 2021-12-04 12:04 PM | Reply

A hero like Kyle Rittenhouse, yeah his future looks pretty bleak.

#8 | Posted by bruceaz at 2021-12-04 12:15 PM | Reply

He had the right idea, listening to the voices in his head.

Unfortunately the voices weren't saying "use your gun to protect America from liberal loony left looters."

Buy he deserves an A for effort. He took out more trash than Kyle did.

Son, you're a credit to your race and the Second Amendment.

They were found hiding in a commercial building and looking 'distressed' - yeah, that's absolutely normal behaviour...for criminals.

Years ago I had a t-shirt that said "I do what the voices in my head tell me."
I had to retire it.
Just not that funny these days.

Bond set at combined $1M after Michigan parents enter pleas
apnews.com

...A judge imposed a combined $1 million bond Saturday for the parents of the Michigan teen charged with killing four students at Oxford High School, hours after police said they were caught hiding in a Detroit commercial building.

James and Jennifer Crumbley entered not guilty pleas to each of the four involuntary manslaughter counts against them during a hearing held on Zoom. Jennifer Crumbley sobbed and struggled to respond to the judge's questions at times and James Crumbley shook his head when a prosecutor said their son had full access to the gun used in the killings.

Judge Julie Nicholson assigned bond of $500,000 apiece to each of the parents and required GPS monitoring if they pay to be released, agreeing with prosecutors that they posed a flight risk.

Defense attorneys for the Crumbleys still argued Saturday that they never intended to flee and had made plans to meet their lawyers early that morning. Attorney Shannon Smith accused prosecutors of "cherry picking" facts to release publicly, including that accusation that their teenage son had unrestricted access to the handgun prosecutors say his father purchased for him days before the shooting.

"Our clients are just as devastated as everyone else," Smith said, adding that the gun "was locked." She didn't provide more detail during Saturday's hearing. ...

Why would it be locked? The gun was gifted to the kid. Why would they lock away his gift like responsible, gun owning parents would?

@#18 ... Why would it be locked? ...

There have been a few things their lawyer has said that don't seem to correlate with reported evidence.

Whether it is a defense lawyer being a defense lawyer and creating an innocent story that has to be disproven by the prosecutors, or it is the actual truth will remain until the courtroom to be seen.

Then it was the lock picking tools that weren't locked.

Didn't the mother say that real estate sales are so dangerous that she has to take a gun with her when she shows a house?

What makes you think the news conference was in front of the yet unnamed commercial building? Why would all the reporters be asking about details of the building if they were standing in front of it?
The chief did note they were taken into custody without incident...that doesn't sound like dragged from the building.
But I get it...the press and the prosecutor are working together to convict all parties without a trial.

And here you are defending these losers already. Why is that? Just because their kid killed a bunch of people with a gun and there can't possible be anything wrong with that?

One of the tragedies here is that the child, apparently, was screaming for help and was ignored by his parents and the school. The parents actions vis a vis Ethan make me incredibly angry.

Not really. They press and the prosecutor are both rushing to convict Ethan and his parents before there's even been a trial.

Even the Oakland county sheriff said he has never seen in his career a prosecutor announce charges before the suspect is in custody. He said he wasn't even notified; he found out via the media.

Where have I defended them??
I've made several previous statements that these folks are terrible parents.

I'm addressing the appalling behavior of the prosecutor. A person like this (like the former DA in Brunswick Georgia) who abuses their power for personal reasons is disturbing.

Exactly what I thought when the school finally gave the reason for meeting with the parents.
Anybody who leaves a note like this where it can be viewed publicly is crying out for help.
This kid was let down by his parents for sure. How can anyone be so totally unaware? After 2 contacts in 2 days and being confronted with the letter/drawing and not taking immediate action. Even if you think you do know your child you have an obligation to take that child into your custody on the spot until you can find out what's going on, AND secure that handgun that you know you had just purchased for him.
And the school definitely failed in this situation. They should have been more objective than the parents and realized the gravity of the situation and the potential trajedy in the making and refused to let that child return to the classroom until he had a phycological evaluation.

Stop trolling and start contributing to the conversation.

And yes I contended that Rittenhouse was actin in self defense shortly after the shooting, but not before looking at all the information I could find.
And after watching the trial I was even more convinced....so was the jury.

The school has a duty to protect the students and they failed!

The teacher did the right thing by bringing the situation to the attention of administrators and they dropped the ball.
