Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

David Corn: The CIA is too polite to say this directly, but it has issued a report that shows that Donald Trump, while obsessing over his efforts to overturn the 2020 election, abandoned one of his primary duties as president: to stay fully informed about potential threats to the nation. But it does highlight his failings as president -- and his brazen negligence of national security. According to this chapter, Sanner last briefed Trump before he headed to his private club in Palm Beach for the holidays on December 23, 2020. The briefings were to resume on January 6. But no more briefings occurred. Helgerson doesn't dwell on this, but his book shows that for the last month of his presidency, Trump received no briefing from the intelligence community. That is -- or should be -- shocking.

All of Trump's thoughts and feelings are tied up in his own needs. He was president of a country he never gave a sh-- about.

"president of a country he never gave a sh-- about."

That's what makes him such a perfect leader for the Republicans. He embodies their values to a tee.

Deplorable's don't even fly the American flag any more. It doesn't represent them, or their values, or the country they want to live in.

Occasionally, these things even give Boaz pause. But probably just because he gets his money from Uncle Sam. And when the American flag is replaced with the Thin Blue Line flag, Boaz won't be getting his precious pension checks any more.

Elections have consequences.

But yeah. Trump and his cults are the "patriots."

How anyone can want him as President again is bewildering

He's a god-damned idiot. He never understood anything other than "his brand". ---- that fat lazy -------.

Doesn't matter to his voters or to the GOP. The collective fealty to L'Orange Fascist is based upon the hope he will say something nice about individual GOPers, not insult their wives or mothers too much, and endorse them at election time. As for Der Dotard voters, they want to boink porn stars, insult Pelosi, and be rich like they think their leader is. If Dems put forth a good candidate, make sure the GOPs hated of Blacks and women is understood, and Dem results are clearly explained, they should defeat nearly every GOP candidate in 2022 ...

"Trump was fact-free" How is that different from most other Rs?

An organization centered around intelligence couldn't have enjoyed putting up with trump and his willful stupidity.

Show me where in the Constitution it says the President has to stay informed about potential threats to the nation.

Hopefully a Republican can show me!

Third republicl0wn preznit to leave office in disgrace in less than half a century. The last two it's like they stopped trying because they were content to coast on the ghost of Reagan.

Yay! Another thread where we get to remind Americans that Trumpy was twice impeached by Congress and was the most incompetent and criminally negligent president ever.

And that this is America, Land of the Free and the Hone of the Brave.

And where sadly, Nothing Can Be Done. (tm)

Personally, I am happy to hear for atleast a month at the end of Trumps train wreck of a presidency somebody with a brain might have been the one to make the important intelligence decisions while Cheetolini planned his coup.

MAGAts don't respond to this post because they know it's true and they have no defense for it so they just ignore it.

I agree with all the posts, but when did Trump ever take his position as Commander in Chief seriously? From my perspective it was never.
I've asked the question time and again why are all this folks worshipping him? He never did anything for this country and never kept any of his promises.
And I've come to the conclusion that his cult really don't define his success by what he's done for them but rather how much he's hurt or denigrated the people they disagree with....sad.

"I've asked the question time and again why are all this folks worshipping him?"

It's because they're just as vain and immoral as he is.
Their sense of entitlement knows no bounds.

And, importantly, he offers revenge and restitution for all the injustices they've endured.
They scapegoat immigrants, minorities, women, and liberals as the cause of their shortcomings in life.
All while preaching about "personal responsibility."

Technically he stopped being prez in early october when he got covid. Nothing got done the media kept running dead stories. After the election loss he threw tantrums and refused to do anything more but bail out his inner circle. Horrible do nothing prez. Good riddance..
