The Biden administration will not send an official US delegation to the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing as a statement against China's "ongoing genocide and crimes against humanity in Xinjiang," White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Monday.

The Uighurs like genocide. Trump told me.

Yeah, it worked so well for Jimmy Carter.

Yeah, well, Biden won't have today's equivalent of Ronald Reagan to run against. Your point is moot.

#4 - Reagan had nothing to do with Carter boycotting the 1980 Olympics in Moscow. He did it to protest the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. Also, the 2024 elections are still three years away. The 1980 election was a few months away from the 1980 Olympics. Who knows who the GOP will put up. Maybe another Reagan. And speaking of pants -------, the GOP will not be stupid enough to nominate Trump as the progressives thing they will.

And thank you for spelling moot correctly. I cringe when I see it spelled m-u-t-e. That's as bad as putting an extra o in loser.

This is not 1980.

"US athletes will still be allowed to compete in the Olympics, but the administration will not be sending government officials to the games."

What's the point? And should China now 'diplomatically' boycott all Olympics held in the USA because of our horrendous human rights record involving the persecution of people of color? It is my belief that all nations at all times have a dark side to them for which all humanity should cringe.

#7 - I wouldn't blame them. If you remember, the USSR boycotted the 1984 Olympics held in LA in a --- for tat move.

That said, the Olympics should be politic free. Biden is wrong with this move.

The Olympics can't be politics free. The teams are based entirely on politically defined boundaries. The build up to host it is mired in political cronyism everywhere it goes.

If it wasn't overtly political, nobody would watch. Most of the sports barely qualify for The Ocho.

China would never pass up the opportunity to show their colors at the Olympics.

Pumping all that state money into winning gold medals is their way of letting the world know that China is the best, most civilized country in the world.

"Most of the sports barely qualify for The Ocho."

That is just a mean thing to say about Mixed Doubles Badminton!

I rather enjoyed the X Games events that have now become Olympic sports.

I've been secretly looking forward to Olympic Break Dancing. We have to know which country is the illest.

#7 do you really believe the two are even remotely compatible?
