Deputies with Kentucky State Police said they received a call early Friday morning about an accidental shooting. The shooting happened at the Bell County 911 center. "We dispatched troopers along with detectives to the scene. Through our investigation, we were able to determine that two dispatchers were inside at the time, they were trading firearms while working," KSP Trooper Shane Jacobs said. During the trade, one of the guns fired, according to police. The bullet hit Dispatcher Kyle Garrett, 23. He was taken to Pineville Community Health Center and later died. "Our prayers go out to the families involved and we're just devastated over here," Jacobs said.

These, and hunting accidents, are my favorite types of accidents.

The bullet hit Dispatcher Kyle Garrett, 23.

Dispatcher Baldwin, on the other hand, was unhurt.

What the hell were they doing, playing "Who's got the biggest gun?"? This is just stupid and juvenile.

That was my question, too. I'm not a gun owner and even I know that a gun, when handled, is supposed to be pointed downward and away ~ and at no time should anybody have their finger on the trigger.

Instead of an accidental shooting should be called a stupid shooting.

Most of them are, but if it's an accident you're not likely to get charged with anything.

Gun fetishists are some of the dullest tools in the shed.

Where are the conservatives to pile on here and scream that this person needs to get charged and go to jail?

You know, all the things they said about Alec Baldwin. That they should have unloaded it, checked the chamber, not pointed it at the other person. Baldwin at least had an expert who told him the gun was safe. Isn't this just straight up murder (negligent homicide) on the part of the person who shot the gun?

At the rate the fascists are killing each other in the last couple of years, maybe America DOES still have a chance.

Well, now we know how much ammo it takes to dispatch a dispatcher.
